Yesterday, we pushed the weights asside and did pilates with .ateswithdani.πŸŒΏπŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈ
My favorite was to "Roll-Like-a-Ball." If you keep your elbows out so your arms make a circular shape. You will feel a nice massage in your back when performing this exercise. 😊

Tam with two 20kg kettlebells doing farmers' walks. The muscles most significantly affected by the farmer's walk include the upper back, lats, traps, forearms, quads, hamstrings, and glutes. This exercise is especially effective at improving grip strength.
When picking up such a heavy weight, remember to SQUAT to pick it up. πŸ’ͺ

Exercise tip during pregnancy. 🀰

You want to avoid laying on your back in the second and third trimester because it causes the uterus to compress the vena cava, a major vein that carries deoxygenated blood to the heart. This reduces the flow of blood oxygen to the baby.

Avoid exercises like flat bench press or prolonged floor work. Instead, modify your position so that you are inclined, sitting, or upright.

Look at .monty as an example. She is performing a chest press on an incline bench. πŸ’ͺ

She is just more than halfway with baby number 3. Well done for keeping it up. I'm so proud! πŸ€—

You can't out train a bad diet. Believe me, I tried! πŸ˜…
This year, when I was training for the Comrades Marathon, I didn't feel the need to be strict with my eating because I was running so much. πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
I ate all the things I love to eat. I would have the side line rusk with my coffee, the extra 'healthy' protein bar after a run, my mom's weekend pudding, and all the snacks that come with a braai. My husband and I also started to get into a habit of having bunny chow every Tuesday night. 🫣🍞
The extra calories crept up, and I'm feeling it.
Habits are hard to break. I'm struggling to break my snacking habit... I think it's easier not to get into a bad habit than to try to break it. πŸ™ƒ Choose your daily habits wisely. Let your daily habits make you a better person physically and mentally in the long run. ✨️

Don't let pregnancy stop you from squatting. During pregnancy, squats are actually an excellent resistance exercise to maintain strength and range of motion in the hips, glutes, core, and pelvic floor muscle. This can assist with the birthing process. πŸ‘Ά
Tip: Don't go past your normal range of motion because your joints are more flexible during pregnancy, so it’s easy to strain yourself by stretching too far.😎
