This past weekend, our students had a fantastic time at our 2-day workshop, gearing up for our upcoming show at The Playhouse in March.

It was such a fun, weekend filled with learning, laughter, and lots of excitement. Our dancers are all fired up and ready for another great year ahead!

Well done to all our dancers who did their ballet Exams over the last month. A few moments from our Test 1 to Grade 3 Exams.

Shall We Dance is thrilled to have Pavishen Paideya, well known choreographer from Rudra Dance Theatre, participating in the 30th annual production of Shall We Dance. This marks Pavi’s 13th appearance in the celebrated production, underscoring his long-standing contribution to the art of dance.

Pavi’s performances have captivated audiences, known for blending traditional and contemporary dance forms. His involvement in this milestone production is set to bring an innovative and dynamic energy to the stage, elevating the performance to new heights.

We are beyond excited to welcome Pavishen back for this special anniversary year, his artistry and dedication have been a core part of our success, and we know that this year's show will be one of our most memorable yet.

The annual production of "Shall We Dance" is set to captivate audiences with the extraordinary talents of choreographer Minette de Klerk-Weir. As one of the creative forces behind the Young Dancers Project (YDP), "Miss Minette" - as she is otherwise known, promises to deliver a mesmerizing performance that will leave patrons in awe.

Minette is no stranger to Shall We Dance Durban - this being her 19th year with the production, she has choreographed some of the most memorable ballet performances through the years. Her ability to blend classical technique with contemporary creativity has set her apart as a true visionary in the world of dance.

We're so proud of Shauna and Nektaria for competing in the Mabel Ryan Awards today.

Well done girls, you danced beautifully!

Earlier this year, after an appeal by the SPCA for food for the animals in their care, our dancers were able to donate R1000.00 from proceeds from the “Soirée” which they had performed in in December 2023.

Monday 29th April was International Dance Day and we made use of the beautiful South African weather to do our ballet barefoot and in the sunshine.

What a wonderful way to celebrate the joy of dance.
