Dolphin Mile Swim Series

Hi All, just a quick reminder Race # 8 is taking place on Sunday 2nd August at Marine Surf Lifesaving Club!!

After a chilly wet week for Durban, conditions are looking very good with a south westerly wind blowing for the next 3 days. The ocean should clean up nicely making for ideal conditions!!

All credit entries from postponed Race 4 & 6 events will be carried forward and valid for the remaining 2 swims of 2026 series. Arrive and register at the credit entry table!!

Congratulations to the 24 new Dolphin Milers who completed their 1st Dolphin Mile (1,6km or 3,2km) at Races # 5 & 7!!!

A big congratulations to all our swimmers who achieved medal milestones at both Race # 5 & 7 of the 2026 Dolphin Mile Swim Series!!
A special mention to Sivaraman Padayachee on his 90th swim & Alan Gibb on his 80th Swim!!

We will hand out their medals at prize giving after next Sundays race!!

Race # 8 takes place this Sunday 2nd August!!

Please note there are some road closures due to the Amashova Cycle race, but if you plan your trip & leave a little earlier it should be easy to get to the swim!

Please note there is the Amashova Cycle race from Pietermaritzburg to Durban taking place with road closures mainly on the M13 and around the stadium precinct. You are able to still get to Marins so please plan your route and leave a bit earlier!!

With the postponement of Race # 6 of the Dolphin Mile Swim Series last weekend due to the road closures, we move onto Race # 7 taking place this Sunday 19th July!!
Race # 4 & 6 will take place on 2nd & 16th August on our back-up dates!!
Credits from Race # 4 & 6 entries can be used for any of the remaining 3 races of the 2026 series!! Those who entered online can arrive on Sunday at the races and register at the Credit entry gazebo!!

URGENT NOTICE!!!

Hi All, due to the ABSA Run the City 10km running event that takes place through Durban on Sunday 12th July and the recently published race route with road closures, it has become obvious to us that it is not going to be possible for swimmers to get to Marine Surf Lifesaving Club easily!!

With this in mind we believe it is better to postpone Race # 6 - Sunday 12th July to one of our back up dates in August 2026!!

We apologize for any inconvenience caused and look forward to seeing you at the next swim Race # 7 - Sunday 19th July 2026!!
