It is not something that appears overnight, nor something that can be purchased, requested, or negotiated.

Every class survived, every bruised forearm, every moment of doubt, every technique refined again and again, all of it becomes part of that story.

Today, Saiheal steps into Shodan, the first true gate of mastery.
Not as someone seeking a trophy, but as a karateka who has earned this rank through honesty, effort, and respect for the tradition of Okinawa Goju Ryu.

Where some dojos offer shortcuts, hand out belts for convenience, or sell the illusion of progress to those willing to pay, we stand firmly against such practices.
At Kenkyukai South Africa, rank is not decoration for a sponsor, it is a reflection of character, understanding, and real ability 😉
