People think because you work at a gym, train and are fit you naturally health conscious. I used to be but over the last 2 years or so I become very “lazy” to eat well and healthier. Although I don’t do fast foods I can eat up a storm of crisps, savoury treats, chocolates, donuts, white bread rolls and heaps of other things not so good for your health. And the worst is that I will eat it all on the same day within a few hours of each other. I suppose a binge eat. As I’m getting older, I am starting to in small insights realise that this is NOT good. It has a very bad effect on my gut, my cholesterol, my brain, my muscles, my joints, my heart because it’s all accumulated over time. If I go on like this I may look fine on the outside but it’s the inside that counts. I don’t want dementia, I don’t want diabetes, I dont want heart issues. So unless I make a conscious effort to be very aware of what I put into my body, I can still change things to work in my favour. It’s never too late to be healthier. So I am one week in. I will keep trying! I am not going to do a 200% turnaround and I will still eat my things I enjoy but not as often or I will choose only 1. I’m sore that if I keep to this new “thinking” I will reap the benefits. It’s never too late! Todays lunch:
Coleslaw salad with chickpeas.
