KZN Netball strongly condemns the horrific killing of women in eKurhuleni, Gauteng. ๐ฏ๏ธ๐
Every woman deserves to live without fear. Every girl deserves to grow up in a safe environment. Every athlete deserves to train, compete, and return home safely.
The continued violence against women and children in our country cannot become normal. GBV is not a private matter. It is a societal crisis that requires all of us to speak up, stand together, and take action.
As KZN Netball, we stand firmly against all forms of Gender-Based Violence, abuse, harassment and violence against women and children.
To our athletes: Your safety matters. Please look out for one another, trust your instincts, speak up when something feels wrong, and reach out to someone you trust when you need help.
To our coaches, officials, administrators, and clubs: Let us create sporting spaces where women and girls feel protected, respected, and heard.
To our communities: Silence cannot protect victims. Speak out. Support survivors. Challenge harmful behaviour. Report abuse. Protect one another.
We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones affected by the recent killings in Gauteng. May their lives never be forgotten.
We cannot play for change on the court while ignoring what happens off it.
