Our Premier Women faced West at Northwood and delivered a dominant all-round performance. Opting to bowl first, the Eagles were exceptional with the ball, claiming wickets at regular intervals to keep West under constant pressure. Sihana Naidu continued her outstanding form, finishing with brilliant figures of 4/10 from her three overs, while Alayah Ramnath provided excellent support with 3/9 from her two overs. Their efforts saw West bowled out for just 50 in 15 overs.

In response, the Eagles made light work of the chase. Captain Shreeya Subbiah led from the front with a blistering unbeaten 41 off just 20 balls, alongside Natarah Naidoo, as the pair powered the team to a commanding 10-wicket victory in only five overs.

Yesterday, our Premier Men took on league leaders Delta at Tills. After winning the toss and electing to bat, Sporting got off to a solid start, with Caleb Pillay and Jared Oosthuizen putting on a 50-run opening stand before Oosthuizen was dismissed. A flurry of wickets slowed the momentum, but Theesan Naicker’s quickfire 33 and Caleb Pillay’s steady 36 runs helped the Eagles reach 161 all out from their 50 overs on a challenging wicket.

The Eagles came out firing with the ball, striking early through Theesan Naicker and Kaveshen Mudaly. Sporting maintained relentless pressure, picking up wickets at key moments. However, Delta built crucial partnerships to swing the game back in their favour.

With the match on a knife’s edge, the Eagles needed two wickets from the final 10 overs, while Delta required just six runs. Refusing to back down, Justin Hooseria stepped up, producing a match-winning spell by cleaning up the last two batsmen to seal a thrilling five-run victory in a truly entertaining contest. Theesan Naicker was the pick of the bowlers returning figures of 2/28 from his 10 overs.

In a must-win clash against the unbeaten Crusaders to secure top spot in their group, our undefeated Under-11 team delivered an outstanding nine-wicket victory at Crusaders 2.

After electing to bowl first, the Mini Eagles made an immediate impact, claiming six quick wickets and putting Crusaders under early pressure. Although Crusaders fought back and looked to shift momentum, the Mini Eagles rose to the occasion, restricting them to 97/8 in their 20 overs.

Leading the charge with the ball was captain A***n Sinath, who produced a remarkable spell of 3/2 from four overs, including three maidens.

With the bat, Keanu Naidoo set up the chase brilliantly with a superb 28-ball half-century before retiring. The experienced pair of Shreyan Govender and A***n Sinath calmly guided the side home, finishing on 10 and 12 not out respectively, as the Mini Eagles sealed victory with 10 overs to spare.
