Fabulous weather for fabulous tennis ! Grantleigh boys team and the development team from King Cetshwayo fought bravely, but Highbury Prep boys and Umhlali Preparatory School girls walked away with the provincial RCS TSA Rising Stars title. We wish the winners well as they represent KZN at the end of October in Benoni ! Bring back the title of the best primary school in the country ! It was a wonderful afternoon of tennis as we hosted Michaelhouse. The tennis was played in great spirits with wonderful skills on show. Thank you to Michaelhouse for travelling down the N3 to our campus. Well done to all the players!

This is what we mean when we talk about hope.

For years, the Ellis Park Tennis Courts sat mostly forgotten in the middle of Joburg. And now, there are kids back on those courts again. They’re learning to play, finding somewhere safe to be after school and, hopefully, dreaming a little bigger along the way.

Alec Galanakis and the Joburg Tennis Grassroots Foundation saw what was happening and decided they couldn’t just let it disappear.

And we love that it’s become about so much more than tennis. Young coaches from the surrounding communities are getting opportunities, local clubs are pitching in, and people are coming together to give these old courts another chance.

Because sometimes hope really is as simple as seeing something that matters and deciding you’re not going to give up on it.
