**Introducing Our Founding Member: Jona Venter**

Meet Jona Venter, the heart and soul behind **Soul of the Surf**. Originally founding **Saffa Surf Guides** back in 2012, Jona, alongside two of his closest friends, have relaunched and rebranded, with a fresh vision—one that embodies the true spirit of surfing, adventure, and giving back.

A seasoned surfer and free spirit, Jona lives for the waves, splitting his time between **Cape Town in summer and Durban in winter**, ensuring he never misses out on the best swells. Through his surf school, he has helped students from all over the world, as well as many here in S.A, follow their dreams of learning to surf and experience the pure joy of riding waves. Beyond teaching, he has led surf guiding tours to some of Africa’s most incredible and remote surf spots.

Jona’s passion for surfing goes beyond just the sport—he is deeply committed to making it accessible to all. He actively works to introduce **underprivileged children to surfing**, giving them a chance to connect with nature, build confidence, and escape the digital trap that keeps so many indoors.

As **Soul of the Surf** moves forward, Jona and the crew will continue running **epic surf tours** across the country, taking surfers to some of the best hidden gems South Africa has to offer.
