Rider Spotlight: Isabella de Sousa ✨

At just 16 years old, Isabella de Sousa has established herself as one of Cadence Equestria's hardworking and dedicated young riders.

Having ridden at Cadence Equestria for many years, Isabella has been training under Belinda's guidance since 2021, steadily developing her skills and confidence both in and out of the show arena. Her commitment to learning, improving, and always giving her best is reflected in the consistent results she and her horse, Maverick, have been achieving recently.

Together, Isabella and Maverick have formed a wonderful partnership built on trust, perseverance, and countless hours of hard work. Whether at home or in competition, Isabella approaches every ride with determination and a positive attitude, making her a fantastic ambassador for our yard.

We are incredibly proud of everything Isabella has achieved so far and look forward to watching her continue to grow as a rider and competitor alongside Maverick.

Education Corner: Mastering the Sitting Trot 🐴

The sitting trot is one of the most challenging skills for riders to master, but it is also one of the most rewarding. A secure, balanced seat allows you to move in harmony with your horse, creating clearer communication and a more effective partnership.

✨ Three key things to remember:
- Sit deep with your chest lifted and shoulders relaxed.
- Engage your core to absorb movement rather than bounce against it.
- Maintain soft, steady hands to encourage a calm, consistent connection.
Remember, the goal isn't to stay perfectly still—it's to move with your horse.

Developing a quality sitting trot takes time, patience, and practice, but every ride is an opportunity to improve.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent Cadence Equestria Show. It was fantastic to see so many riders stepping into the arena, supporting one another, and enjoying a great day!

A special congratulations goes to all of our first-time competitors who took part. It takes courage to enter the ring for the first time, and we are incredibly proud of each and every one of you. We would also like to recognise all of our Cadence riders who represented the yard so well throughout the day.

A warm welcome and thank you to our outside riders, Janine and Andrea, who joined us with Rajah and Billy Joe as well as the Leyhla Arabians team of Dominique, Bianca, Leyhla Titanium, Leyhla Ignite & Leyhla Kamana who joined us. We loved having you with us and hope to see you back at future events.

Cadence Equestria Horse of the Month: Blok Abbi

From the show arena to the endurance track, Abbi continues to prove that she is a truly exceptional horse.

Abbi recently achieved an incredible milestone by completing her first FEI 160km with Jessica Cunze in the saddle. As if that wasn't impressive enough, she has now been selected to represent South Africa in Namibia next month, where she and Eduard Cunze will compete in the 120km event and officially earn their Protea colours following their outstanding Top 10 finish at the prestigious Fauresmith 200km ride last year. 🇿🇦

While her achievements speak for themselves, those who know Abbi best understand that her greatest quality lies beyond the competition results. To Vanessa, our yard owner and manager, Abbi is a true ray of sunshine. Whether she's carrying a rider through an endurance ride, a dressage test, or a showing class, Abbi always gives her heart, looks after her rider, and helps them perform to the very best of their ability.
