MINNIE (nΓ©e Titford): Alison Jayne passed away peacefully at St. Dominic's Hospital, surrounded by love and listening to her favourite ELO songs, on 7 June 2026 at the age of 63 years, after a long illness faced with courage and grace.
Beloved wife to David, loving mother to Jessica & Lauren, mother-in-law to Andrew, cherished grandmother to Jamie, Presley & Riley, dearly loved sister to Lynne & Kay, sister-in-law to Dick, and fondly remembered by David's siblings and their partners Tammy & Pat, Bronwyn & Andrew, Sonya & Tim, and her extended families & friends.
A Memorial Service in celebration of Jayne's life will be held at the Stirling Presbyterian Church, Cecil Lloyd Street, Stirling, East London on Thursday, 18 June 2026 at 2 pm.

Her cremation will be private.

It is with the greatest amount of sadness that we share the news of the passing of Jayne Minnie.
Jayneβs contribution to our club, friendship and willingness to always lend a hand will be remembered by all.
We ask everyone to spare a thought for Dave and family and allow them the time and space to come to terms with their loss.
Our sincere condolences go out to the Minnie family.

The Club Menβs Singles quarterfinals, semifinals, and final were played today in beautiful autumn sunshine. The standard of play throughout the day was exceptionally high, with some outstanding bowls on display from all the competitors.
Glen Warner and Derek Morgan battled their way through to the final β and what a final it was. Spectators were treated to an exciting, high-quality match, with Glen eventually coming out victorious. Congratulations to Glen on a superb win.
A sincere thank you to Andrew Moorcroft for organising the competition in his role as Competition Secretary, and also to all the spectators who came along to support and cheer on the players throughout the day.
Well done to everyone involved.

β Border U/35 Singles β
Well done to Andrew Lentz on gaining another Singles title this year. Andrew came out tops against Chad Dawson, Comrades BC, in a keenly contested final.
Bronze winners were Nicholas Gale, Old Selbornian BC, and Matthew Boyce, Comrades BC.
Excellent bowls was on display.

The club men's Singles competition was played today. Thank goodness the weather cleared and there was an improvement compared to the wild weather of the past week!
Well done to those through to the quarter finals which will be played on 24 May 2026.

What a fantastic afternoon of bowls!
Todayβs final saw Mark Hensberg & Patricia Tiltmann take on Bryan Voke & Natalee Milwidsky in a contest played in true sporting spirit.
Mark & Patricia kept their nerve, getting the better of Bryan & Natalee to come out on top β well played! π
A big thank you to the spectators for the great support, and special thanks to Andrew Moorcroft (Competition Secretary) for keeping everything running smoothly β no small feat!
Trophies were presented by Janette Gordon, vice-president.
All in all, a lovely afternoon of bowls.

CLUB MIXED PAIRS
The Club Mixed Pairs got off to a fantastic start today, with 20 teams competing across five sections.
Players were treated to beautiful autumn sunshine βοΈ as sectional play unfolded, creating the perfect setting for a great day of bowls.
After some competitive and entertaining matches, five section winners have emerged.
