We are proud to share that 12 members of the Bhongweni Chess Club are currently competing at the Eastern Cape Chess Eastern Cape Chess Open at St Joseph’s Preparatory College.
After Day 1 (5 rounds completed), our players are showing strong performances across all sections. Most of our players are scoring between 3 and 4 points out of 5, which is a very encouraging start as they aim to qualify for the Eastern Cape Closed Chess Championship 2026.
Tomorrow, they will compete in the final 2 rounds, and we wish them all the best as they push for medals and top honours for our club — one of the strongest in the province.
🌟 Highlight of the Day:
