EPISODE 5
*
"So your address will be pretty helpful right now" Neil said as he opened the car door for me and I walked in.
He made a turn to the other side of the car and got in the driver's seat.
"Well my address is still the same." I tell him as he got inside the car. He knows where I lives, he had followed me home once, we were both leaders of the student council back then in high school, though I was in grade eleven, I was still made president there. Neil had followed me home that day since the matters in our hand got too much, and we had to take it home.
"Really?" He smiled.
"Yep" I replied, what made him think I moved.
"Okay well that's great!" He said and before I knew it we were on the road.
"So what were you doing out there?" Neil asked.
"Like I said earlier I was waiting for the bus." I replied.
He laughed "Yeah I know, that is the bus stop anyways, I meant to say, why were you waiting for this, are you coming from somewhere?"
"Oh… Yeah, yes I was coming back from work." I said clutching my handbag.
"Oh! Really, you work till this late?" he asked.
"It's a new job and it's not that late.!"
"What? It's late it's 8:45pm!" he exclaimed.
"That's because I missed the first bus and the second one took too long today" I explained.
"Oh okay, but I still think it's pretty late!" Neil said and I sighed, "If you think so, and you should be glad I'm late cause we wouldn't have met each other if I didn't miss the bus."
Neil smiled. "You're right, we wouldn't, I mean I was just driving, I was so focused on the road, but I don't know why, but I decided to look at the people waiting at the bus terminal, and under the lights, there you were, sitting on the waiting bench looking like Elsa, I was shocked at first doubting it wasn't you, but then you sighed and looked at my car making me see your face even clearly and I couldn't believe my eyes".
"Well that's good to hear" I said.
"So you said you just started the job, so can I ask what kind of job it is?"
Neil and questions.
"I teach!" I said plainly.
"Really? Wow!" he smiled.
"Is it like a private tutor or you teach a whole-
"A private tutor!" I cut him off.
"Wow that is pretty nice!" Neil blurted and I smiled.
"So how about you what do you do?" it's time for my questions.
"Oh" he smiled. "I help my dad run one of his small firm now!"
Small firm.?? Is he crazy.! His dad own one of the biggest cosmetics industry and other firms too which I can't even consider as small. And look at Neil calling it small.
"Wow!" I smiled.
His life is so great.
"So.? Are you in college?" I asked.
"Oh, college, I'm actually going to be graduating next week! My graduation party is on the line!" he explained.
Oh wow!
Wow!
I'm jealous, I haven't even smell the C in college nevertheless graduating.
Neil is financially stable and working with his dad now, done with college. Wow.
"Oh that's good!" I giggled.
"How about you, are you in college?" He asked.
I hesitated "I am… not" I said and he glanced at me.
"What? Why?"
"Well just… Because of some personal reasons." I sighed, I can't tell him I'm not financially stable yet for college.
"Oh okay!" he breathed out and we both remained quiet
He starts to ask me about other things that's not related to my personal life though.
We both looked around and talked things we saw on our way and then it led to another subject and then another subject related to our high school days.
Finally Neil got in front of my house and I knew he wanted to get the door for me but I beat him to it. He smiled nervously as he got to me seeing I got the door myself.
"Okay Neil, thank you" I said, actually out of words.
"It's no problem i am so glad I ran into you today, it's been four years now and I have lost all contact with you, I thick Rick told me you moved, he said he once saw another family coming out from your house one day and since that day I assumed you moved, and forgot about me. But I'm glad you're still here!" He grinned and I laughed thinking about the part where he said, another family coming out from my house.
"Nope we are here to stay and not ready to leave anytime soon," I giggled.
"Well that's great news!" Neil smiled.
"Okay then, I'll be leaving now" I sighed.
"Before you go, can I get your contact, the first one is no more!" He laughed nervously.
"Oh yeah, my phone got stolen" I replied and took his phone from him, which he gladly handed out, I typed in my number and gave it to me.
"Okay thanks, at least we'll be keeping in touch." he smiled and I nodded.
"Yeah,"
"Okay good night Elsa, have a sweet night!" he said as he opened the car door and got in.
"You too" And with a small wave I gave him, I saw his car driving out of the yard.
*.
I laid on my bed and sighed heavily, oh Neil. Sweet as always.
I remembered when I used to crush on him back then, I think he noticed or I'm not sure, but that was then.
I got up from my bed and lazily went to take a hot bath.
My dad and I had dinner again that night and my mom already fell asleep early again. So which made my dad and I ate dinner together again.
That night as I dressed my bed I revieved a call. And it was Neil, he said he just called to tell me one more good night.
And honestly that was nice of him, I enjoyed his voice through the phone.
That night I slept soundly like a baby and I know it sounds weird but I kept hearing Neil's voice saying good night
-*-
The next day, I did my morning routine and found myself watching TV and I think the movie I was watch was so boring, I fell asleep.
Thankfully I woke up in time to get ready for my job and by three, I found myself at the Huggins residence.
Getting used to this house already.
I walked in the living room and I heard Mrs Huggins sweet voice called out to my name and I turned to her to pour out my greetings.
She told me Jason was in his room and asked me about the lesson, I told her it was going great and how Jason has been listening and doing better, even far more than better.
I got to Jason's room and I found him seated behind the desk and playing with his phone.
"Hey Jason." I called for his attention when I closed his door.
"You're here!" he said disappointed.
I rolled my eyes and walked up to him.
"A little good afternoon would have been nice." I said as I dropped my bag on his desk.
"Good morning" he said to irk me.
"Well as long as there is a 'good' at the beginning, it's a good start". I smiled and pulled out my books and dropped it in front of him.
I brought out everything but he didn't make a phone to learn which made me grab his phone from his hand.
He wanted to protest about his phone but with one horrifying glare for me, he sighed and grabbed his pen.
I started on a topic as always explained it to him and I can't believe this, like what am I doing here!? Well I'm here for the money but Jason is seriously smart. His smart ass made it easier for the both of us as we made it to the next question in no time.
We made it to the most difficult questions which made Jason stop to think for some time before writing it down and all in conclusion, he got the answers correctly.
Jason was attempting to a question which I just explained when my phone starts to ring and I suddenly had second thoughts about changing my ringtone.
I picked up my phone and said a little hello and was glad when Jason paid no attention to me.
"HI Elsa." I heard Neil's voice.
"Oh, Neil, hi how are you?" I replied, wow!
He called again.
"I'm great, how are you doing this fun evening!" he asked.
"Not fun for me but it's okay!" I giggled.
"Oh well as for me I just took a break off to call you, just wanted to know how you're doing."
"I'm working now and I'm fine." I smiled.
"Good to hear, so how about your student is he or she complying with you?" Neil asked.
"Well…" I looked at Jason. "He is complying lately, thankfully" I said
"Oh okay" Neil was quiet for a brief moment before saying.
"So Elsa I've been wondering if you would like to have dinner with me sometime." Neil said.
"Dinner? I don't really have time to make show up at dinners cause I leave here at seven pm." I said.
"Like not just a regular dinner, A date dinner. Or is that too soon?" he laughed, I could feel the nervousness in his voice.
"No it's okay, The idea of date night isn't that bad!" I tell him.
"Oh thank God!" he breathed a sigh of relief.
"So when should be the date, when do you think it's best to go on this date!" He asked.
"Uhm… Tomorrow?" I said.
"Wow! Okay tomorrow isn't that bad.!" He said.
Jason turned to me, and I guess he was done.
"Okay then tomorrow it is!" I said.
"Okay have a great day!".
"You too"
I ended the call.
"Your boyfriend?" Jason smirked.
"Mind your business and pass me your book!" I said and he rolled his eyes and handed me his book for me to check his work.
"I was just asking a simple question" Jason scoffed.
"Okay fine he's not my boyfriend. Satisfied?" I huffed.
"So you guys are going on a date tomorrow?" Jason asked inquisitively.
"Seriously, are you going to question me now?" I sighed.
"It's just a simple question."
"you heard the whole phone call, now just shut up and let me focus." I huffed and turned to his book, to see all his answers wrong.
"You failed it all! I'm disappointed in you!" I said slamming the book on the desk.
"Being disappointed in me doesn't change anything, now explain the question again" Jason said and I felt like slapping the back of his head and I actually did.
"Ouch!" he said
"Don't order me around." I yelled.
"I just said explain the question I didn't order you!" he yelled back.
"Then how come your question sound like a command?" I blurted.
"Probably because you imagined it that way, my parents haven't hit me like this before who are you to--.
I believed my glare stopped him from completing his sentence.
"Now let's continue with our work!" I said and he sighed with his normal annoying eye roll.
"Now focus!" I said as I dragged my chair closer to his and grabbed his pen.
"Can you ever stop yelling!" He scoffed.

I explained the questions Jason failed, carefully to him and he listened attentively and when he attempted the question again he got it all.
"So? This seem pretty easy to you, why did you fail it at first?" I asked as I marked his correct answers.
"I have no idea." he replied.
"Look mathematics doesn't need anything but focus, so I have no idea what distracted you at first but please try to focus next time! Cause honestly you're actually doing great, well if you continue like this, I'll be gone before you know it, just like you wanted me to!" I tell him
"I know, that's my plan!" he smirked.
"But don't make it too soon so my money can get a little extended" I added and he burst into a laugh saying. "what?".
First time I heard him laugh though.
"It's not funny, the only reason any one in the entire world is working is because of money, honestly I don't like this job and I am sure one heck of a liar if I say I like you.!" I said to him.
"And we don't like you either so the feeling's mutual!" Jason smirked.
"We?" I repeated.
"Yeah. Me and my entire classmates, they already know so much about you, not that they know any good side about you, you have all bad qualities!" Jason scoffed,
And I gasped. "Bad qualities? And you think you have good qualities, you're rotten both on your inside and outside Jason, I'm trying my best to cope with a brat like you but your dumb phony little brain won't allow you to see what I'm trying to make out of you, I wonder how your parents breathe around you, maybe it's because of you're their only child, or maybe your friends are tired of you, you're nothing but a bubble head, gormless weak-minded ass hole, you get that?" Yep I was pretty mad.
"Wow!" Jason yelled. "You just insulted the daylight out of me!"
"And I plan to do more if you talk bad about me next time." I said as a matter of factly
"Your boyfriend or date buddy shouldn't try and get on your bad side if he doesn't want to see what's really hidden in you!" Jason rolled his eyes.
"Shut up and let's move to the next topic, I'll be leaving soon!" I said and he breathed out a sigh of relief saying "Finally!"
I talked about another topic with him showed him how to solve it and this time we get to draw diagrams, he said he found it pretty easy and told me to leave and of course I did. I gave him an assignment with twenty questions. Wow I was pretty mad.
He complained about ten being too much and worse of all twenty, but I told him it was nothing and left with a blink of an eye.
That kid is such a pain, I've never insulted anyone like that before, I never insult, I'm a nice girl, he's bringing out all the badness in me. And no way, I don't have bad qualities. He does.
-
"Hey mom!" I smiled seeing my mom in the living room immediately I got home.
"Finally, i get to see you back from work! It's your third day how do you feel?" my mom asked.
"It's nice!" I said, well it is nice ever since Jason has been complying but I just hope he stops bad mouthing me.
"Okay I'm just about to prepare dinner." my mom said.
"This late?" I asked
"Yeah I want your dad to eat with us too." My mom said and I nodded, that's really thoughtful.
"Okay then I'll be in my room" I said and my mom nodded.
I sighed as I carefully dropped my bag on my bed and stripped my clothes off my body.
I made it to my shower and couldn't feel more calm when the warm water beat my back. Nothing is more relaxing than this, I have had a bad day.
Jason.
I walked back to my room and dressed in the most comfortable baggy clothes ever.
I suddenly remembered my date with Neil tomorrow and realised I have nothing to wear.
I opened my closet wide enough for me to see I really have nothing good to wear.
Suddenly I saw the dress I wanted to wear to prom, but didn't go, somehow that night of prom I just didn't want to go to prom and I didn't go, which I didn't regret one bit. My mom had bought the dress for me all psyched about me going to prom but I killed her excitement when I lied I was coming down with a cold, which I wasn't.
I brought out the wheat coloured dress and place it on the bed. I looked at it and somehow it looked smaller in my eyes. But it's elastic so it can pull down and cover my thighs, I place the dress back in it's place and closed my closet, I'm wearing the dress, I really have nothing to wear and it's my only pretty cloth.
I laid on my bed and played with my phone, suddenly wishing Neil could call again so I could hear his voice. Wait! Do I still have feelings for him??
Minutes later I heard my mom voice calling out my name and I knew it was time for dinner.
The three of us has dinner that night and I could see the happiness in my dad eyes. Family matters so much.
I tired back to my room and before I knew it I was fast asleep
*.
I groaned angrily when I couldn't find my maroon coloured boots that went with my necklace, I need to have everything together, so this date would go perfectly. Neil already called saying he wanted to check on me and I know he wanted to know if I'm still ready about the date and I made sure I sounded very psyched about it and we fixed a time which is 8:00pm, that will give me time to teach Jason and then go on my date.
Easy peasy
I got my stuff ready in my bag, my necklace and earrings, I've never been on a date before. Wow, okay so I'm a bit flushed and nervous about this one.
I wore the dress I've planned for today and my jaw dropped when I stared at my reflection on my mirror, I've never wore the dress before I only wore it before prom night and didn't even go to prom.
Did I grow taller?
I'm sure I did, cause the dress didn't just hug every inch of my body, but was also short and the elasticity didn't help at all. It was armless, leaving my shoulder and neck exposed.
I sighed, well on the other end, it looks kind of s*xy, so it's staying.
I've never looked like this before.
I grabbed a very big jacket from my closet, the jacket was long and big, so when I put it on, it covered my thighs and stopped at my knees, it was like a robe but in a khaki version.
The jacket covered the dress completely and also my body, I packed my hair up, dropped my phone in my bag and left the house.
The bus drive was hectic but I got there in Time.
As always Mrs Huggins greeted me with a smile before I left for Jason's room.
I got to Jason's room and the door was open already and getting in I found him on the bed, with his phone, making a call.
He ended the call immediately and turned to me.
"Elsa?" he called, like he was irritated about something.
"What?" I snapped, annoyed by the way he called me and slammed the door.
"I thought you weren't coming today, thought you had a date?" Jason blurted.
"My date is none of your business and yes I do have a date, and also I won't ever miss our lesson now get your butt ready!" I said and walked to his study table to place my bag.
Jason got down from his bed. "You're going on a date and you're dressed like that?" Jason said eyeing my khaki jacket.
"Just get your butt over here." I said and he came to sit down without saying a word.
Wow he is listening to me.
"Okay can we get this lesson over with, I'm getting sleepy!" Jason said.
"I know you're indirectly saying my class is boring but I don't care!" I said as I pulled out my textbooks.
I started on a new topic, explaining about it and I had to draw a diagram, the diagram I drew didn't look very good and I got mocked by Jason, which I very well expected. I ignored him.
After treating about three more subject. I asked about his assignment and was shocked when I saw he got all twenty of them. He just held on a proud smirk when he noticed how shocked I was.
"Well I have nothing to say rather than, good job" I tell him.
"And I think I deserved it!" Jason smirked.
"Okay, so I'll be dropping another assignment--
"What? no way!" Jason exclaimed.
"What?" I was confused.
"Can you not give me an assignment. Please?" Jason said shocking me with his please.
"I cracked my head up for this, it took me hours and tomorrow my mom said you won't be coming cause you won't be coming on weekends and I have this Saturday and Sunday to prepare for my birthday, so an assignment will just be left untouched." he explained.
"Oh okay, I understand, no assignment for you then," I said and stood up.
"What's the time" I asked.
He glanced at my phone. "7;30pm" he said and I gasped.
Well I can still get in time for my date.
I quickly shoved my books inside my bag, and brought out my necklace and earrings.
"That's it for today lesson Jason, now please get me a mirror!" I ordered.
"What?" he laughed. "Are you late for you date."
"Just get me a mirror" I almost yelled and he gave me a look before getting me one.
"Well thank you." I tell him as I placed the square shaped mirror in front of me.
Jason stood behind me and watched me wear my necklace.
"No matter what accessory you wear, your clothes already killed it all, you look like a lost passenger." Jason said and I rolled my eyes.
"Just shut up." I yanked.
I grabbed my earrings and quickly placed it on both my ears and I look good. I guess.
I stood up and carried my bag, I dropped it again when I realised my ugly jacket is still on my body.
I loosened the ropes around my body and took off the jacket.
"No fu***ng way" Jason scoffed.
"What?" I looked up at him.
"You look hot!" he smirked.

I stood up and carried my bag, I dropped it again when I realised my ugly jacket is still on my body.

"No fu***ng way" Jason scoffed.
"What?" I looked up at him.
"You look hot!" he smirked.
I rolled my eyes.
"Oh please!"
I grabbed my bag, "Thanks for the compliment but I think I'll get going now." I said and hurried to the door.
"Okay good bye Jason, good luck with your birthday, that means I'll be seeing you on Tuesday right?" I said.
"Wait!" He said. I paused and turned to him.
"So you're not attending my birthday party!" He asked.
"No and besides I was never invited." I replied.
"Well now you're invited. Don't you want to come?"
"To a teenage boy's birthday party, full of teenagers with similar attitude like you. I rather stay home" I tell him and he laughed.
"It won't be as bad as you think!" he said.
"I'll think about it!" I assured him.
"Okay, whatever" He shrugged.
"Okay good night" I said about to leave again when Jason called me again.
"What?" I sighed, frustrated.
"Let your hair down so it will go with your full look" Jason said.
"Goodnight" I said and slammed the door.
I hurried down the stairs and good thing I didn't come across Mrs Huggins.
I made it out of the Huggins residence and walked to the place Neil and I plan to meet, as I hurried to the place, I yanked the rubber band off my hair letting my hair cascade around my shoulder, maybe I should just listen to Jason This once.
*
I saw Neil standing beside his car, dressed in a perfect black clean suit that matched his brown hair that he jellied all back.
He looked up and smiled seeing me, and I noticed as his eyes dart from my legs to my face.
Okay, he's checking me out. That's nothing new.
"Hey." I said and my voice shook, I was freezing, it was a cold night and my shoulders are bare open letting me shiver.
"HI.! Wow! You look gorgeous!" Neil said with a flushed expression.
"Thank you!" I smiled. "You look good too" I added.
Neil opened the car door for me and I got into his car.
He got in and closed the door and I breathed out a sigh of relief when I felt the warmth of the car.
He started to drive the car and he just couldn't stop complimenting me of how beautiful I look, he was just making me blush for all he cares.
But I did appreciate his compliments.
The night sky was beautiful, the street lights brightened up the whole street and I just felt this date night just perfect for the weather.
"So I guess you were just back from your work?" Neil asked.
"Yep, actually coming from there" I said and paused.
"My jacket!" I gasped.
"What jacket?!" Neil looked at me.
"I was actually wearing a jacket this morning, and I left it at my work place!" I said pulling out my phone from my bag.
I can't believe I got super careless, and I won't be going to work tomorrow or next.
I called Mrs Huggins and she picked up at once. One thing I love about her.
"Miss Elsa?" she was surprised.
"HI Mrs. Huggins, sorry please can I speak to Jason!" I said.
"Oh okay!" she said and cut the call.
Neil just watched me as I looked out the car impatiently.
"You're always like this!" Neil laughed.
"Always like what?" I turned to him.
"You're never patient and you always do that weird tap with your feet" He said and looked down at my legs making me look down to see I was actually tapping my feet on the floor.
"Oh." I said.
"You really have to learn how to be patient" Neil stated glancing back and forth at me and the road.
"Well I can be pat--
My phone interrupted me from completing my sentence and I whispered a little "Excuse me" to Neil before picking up the call, the number seems unknown though.
"Elsa?" I heard Jason's voice.
"Oh thank goodness Jason!" I breathed out.
"Why are you calling me? do you miss that much!" Jason teased.
I ignored that anyways. "My jacket, the one I left in your room!" I said.
"What jacket the ugly one?" He asked and I rolled my eyes.
"Yes the ugly one!, I left it in your room, beside your study desk I think!" I tell him.
"Okay, yeah it's still here, but what do you want me to do about it?" He asked.
I sighed.
Well I've confirmed it's there, but I don't know what to say, looks like I'll come get it myself tomorrow.
"Okay, keep it safe for me, I'll come get it tomorrow!" I said.
"Oh okay, but why do I feel like you purposely left your jacket here so you could come see me tomorrow!" Jason said sounding so serious.
"Get lost Jason!" I scoffed.
"By you saying, get lost means it's true!" Jason said and I hanged up. I don't have the strength for his silly jokes.
Neil cleared his throat "And if I can guess, Jason is the boy you're currently tutoring right?" she asked.
"Yes" I replied.
"How old is he?" Neil asked.
"He'll be eighteen soon… Very soon!" I said.
"Oh wow, judging by the way you talked to him on the phone, it seems like he's one hell of a teenager." Neil said.
"You have no idea." I shook my head. "Jason is like a pain in the neck"
Neil laughed. "Teenagers, don't worry he's just going through puberty".
"That's what I tell myself any time he gives me one of his rude attitude or indirectly insults me, I just let it slide. But sometimes I don't." I said and Neil laughed.
"I know you never let anything slide, I could tell by our days of the student council" Neil smiled.
"Yeah." I smiled too.
I started. "Honestly student council days used to be fun when we both ran it together but, after you graduated and I became president it wasn't that fun anymore, I had to do everything myself."
Neil's laughter filled the car and it made me smile.
"You're one lazy president"
"No kidding" I rolled my eyes.
*
Few minutes later Neil parked his car beside a building and the street seemed kind of empty.
This time around I let him open the car door for me, cause it's our date night and that's how it's supposed to go.
Neil guard me as I made my way out of the car and the feeling felt beautiful.
"And we're here!" he said, Making me gaze at the big building we stood underneath.
"Where is this?" I asked.
"A restaurant, it's not very popular but it's the best." Neil said and took my hand as we both walked inside.
A lady helped us get the door and as we walked in the main building, a tall man with a book or whatever he was holding greeted us politely and asked for our names.
"Reservation for Neil and Elsa!" Neil tells the man and he checked his book before telling us to follow him.
We followed him to the second floor of the building and he opened an expensive looking door at the corner of the hallway.
Inside the door was a very good looking room.
It has just a single table with two chairs facing each other at the end of round table.
On top of the table was a small vase and a single rose in it, and it looked so cute.
The room has dim lights and roses were placed on the wall, it almost looked like a rose jungle but it was still beautiful.
Neil and I got in and he got the chair for me as a nice gentleman he is.
A waiter walked in and handed us the restaurant's menu.
After picking whatever I want and Neil picking his too. We handed the menu to the waiter and he left to get us our foods.
Neil and I were served water first, and we both started to talk about things,
What we talked most, was about our high school days, Cause that's when we got to know each other grew fond of each other and all and Neil shocked me when he asked.
"So do you still have a crush on me?" He said making me almost throw out the stake I was enjoying.
"What the hell…" I laughed. "Where did that come from.?"
"Sorry I startled you, I can clearly recall you had a crush on me back then in high school!" he said.
Well I did.
"But I never told you that!" I said.
"Yeah, you didn't but Andrew told me!" Neil said eyeing his food and me at the same time.
"Andrew. I didn't tell him either!" I smiled. Andrew used to be Neil's best friend.
"So you did had a crush on me?" Neil smirked.
I giggled. "I did, I sure did!" I admitted and he beamed even more.
"Okay wow, thanks for admitting that." he chuckled.
"But how did Andrew know?" I asked.
"I don't know he just said he's been watching you and he could tell you had a crush on me and honestly, I didn't know and when he told me about it I started to finally see you had a crush on me." Neil expound making me release a hideous cackle.
I drank a lot of water to help my laugh die down. And it did help.
"So you couldn't see I had a crush on you but Andrew did. Ugh Neil you're so pathetic!" I rolled my eyes.
"I didn't, so do you still have a crush on me?" He asked.
I rolled my eyes. "What kind of question is that?".
"It's just a question!"
"Well that was just a teenage phase all girls pass through, I don't have a crush on you anymore" I let him know.
I don't.
"A phase all girl pass through?" he repeated.
"You know in high school there is always this one guy a girl likes but after school it just dies down, don't you think it's a phase" I tilt my head at him and he laughed.
"Well for some people, it's a phase, for some, it's not, I guess it was just a phase for you" Neil said disappointed. And I shrugged
"So do you think you can still crush on me or maybe fall in love with me again?" He grinned.
"I don't know, let's see what you got." I replied.

Neil and i walked out of the huge restaurant and he led me to the car, I got the door myself and got in, while he got in the car too.
The drive home was quiet, we both didn't say much and I was kind of sleepy too.
The date night was cool, I honestly enjoyed it.
-
Neil pulled over in front of my house and I could see the lights from my kitchen window on.
We both walked out of the car and he smiled at me.
"Hope you had a wonderful night?" Neil started.
"Yeah I had a great night" I said sincerely.
"Okay so… Goodnight?" Neil smiled.
"Yeah goodnight" I replied
I wanted to go inside cause I was freezing but Neil called me back.
"Yes?" I replied politely.
"Yeah so," he begun and starts to rub his neck nervously. "On Monday, so on Monday is my graduation and we get to invite friends and family, and honestly, you're the only friend I've got!" he said.
"For real?" I scoffed.
"Yep.!" He said and I sighed. "Okay fine, I'll be at your graduation but you'll be the one picking me up" I tell him.
"Of course, if I don't, who will then?" he laughed.
"Okay then Neil, I'll see you on Monday?" I smiled and he nodded.
"Thank you for tonight Elsa, good night and also have a wonderful night" He said and with one brief hug, his legs walked to this car and with one last smile and wave, he got into his car and drove away.
I covered my freezing body with my skinny hands, not like it covered anything though, and ran into the house.
My house was warm as always and the sweet smell of turkey filled the whole place.
"Elsa is that you?" My mom asked as she heard the door close.
"Yes it's me!" I yelled.
"Youre just in time for our late dinner." my mom said coming out of the kitchen.
My mom paused seeing my outfit.
"Oh no, it's okay I'm already full." I said.
"Did you go teaching, dressed like that?" she asked.
I glanced down at my dress. "What? No am I crazy? I went on a date." I said walking towards the couch and resting my butt down.
"A date?" my mom's voice was as curious as it was excited.
"Yeah, with Neil!" I said.
She knows Neil.
"Neil? Neil? Who's Neil?"
"Neil? The guy you once called a very simple minded guy, who came home with me on time from school!" I recalled her memory and She gasped.
"Oh you mean that Neil? Oh wow.! It's been ages, so you've been in touch with him?" my mom asked.
"No not really, I met him the night before yesterday, coincidently at the bus stop. We were both surprised seeing each other" I explained and my mom smiled.
"You guys met the day before yesterday, and he already asked you out on a dinner date?" my mom sounded weird which made me laugh.
"Yeah? What's wrong with dinner dates?"
"Nothing, I mean so quickly, don't you think he likes you or something!" my mom smirked.
"I don't know mom" I stood up. "I'll be in my room, it's been one stressful day."
"Okay good night sweetie." my mom said behind me and I nodded.
I brought my phone out from my bag and dropped my bag on the floor beside my bed.
I checked for any missed calls or messages but none. So I just dropped my phone.
I got up from my bed and removed the skimpy dress from my body.
I felt like I could breathe again, immediately the dress was off my body.
I made it to shower and spent almost an hour under the hot runny water…
**
That night as I tucked myself under my blanket, my head buried in the pillow, my phone brought a message tone and I looked at the screen to see a goodnight message from Neil.
I smiled and texted him back before falling asleep.
'The sun is surprisingly hot today', I thought as I came down from my bed to check the time.
I gasped when I saw it was 1:3pm, wow did I really sleep that late? Was I really that stressed out yesterday?.
I breathed out a sigh of relief when I figured out I won't be going to work today, but sighed when I remembered my jacket, I have to go get it.
That afternoon I ate the applejack cereal as brunch and after taking my bath and watching a little bit of modern television, I left the house and made my journey to the Huggins residence.
*.
Thankfully the road was free Today, the bus wasn't full and I made it in the Huggins residence in no time.
Mrs Huggins gasped seeing me walk into her living room.
"No, you can't work extra time. You get to work on weekdays, I don't want you to get stressed out" Mrs Huggins said.
"Uh no, I'm actually here for something else." I tell her.
"Oh really?" she giggled.
"Yeah" I replied. "I left my jacket here yesterday and I came to pick it up" I expound and she nodded. "Right Jason told me about that, anyways you can go get it, Jason kept it waiting for you, he's in his room" Mrs Huggins said and I nodded and made my way to Jason's room.
I knocked on the big wooden door that leads to Jason's room and I heard his voice saying. "Come in, it's open." from the inside.
I pushed the door opened and walked in, he was on his bed with a boy beside him with curly hair, they were both playing with their phones they didn't even bother to look at whoever walked in until I said
"Hey Jason!"
Jason and his friend looked up immediately.
"Elsa! Wow can't believe you're here. Your jacket is over there, you can take it and leave, you're welcome" Jason rushed his words and turned back to his phone.
"Dude." his friend nudged him.
I made it to his study desk and grabbed the jacket from the chair.
I made it to the door but was stopped my Mrs Huggins who just walked inside.
"Oh, I was about to leave!" I smiled at her.
"But you just got here, why won't you just stay for tea!" she offered.
"No it's okay!" I smiled about to walk pass her but she placed both hands on my shoulder and let out a friendly smile. "Please, you should know I don't treat my guest in that harsh way and you're more than a guest, you're Jason's private tutor for God's sake." Mrs Huggins said.
"She's the tutor?" I heard Jason's friend whispered to him.
"Okay then fine, but just tea, I have to go!" I smiled.
"Now that's the spirit!" Mrs Huggins said and led me out of Jason's room and downstairs to the kitchen.
And my jaw almost dropped.
This shouldn't be just a kitchen, I couldn't even describe what I was looking at, every stove, oven microwave, fridge, felt like another Level of technology, it was advanced and the kitchen island was to die for.
Mrs Huggins starts to brew tea on the counter and I just stood still with my jacket and bag on my body and watched her.
Each time she glanced at me, she throws me this heartwarming smile and I just nod lightly.
And then she started a conversation.
"So I heard you went on a date yesterday!"
Okay that is kind of awkward to start a conversation.
"Uhm…Yeah!" i replied.
"Wow okay, I didn't mean to pry, but I didn't see you when you left yesterday and Jason said you left in a hurry cause you had a date." Mrs Huggins beamed.
Of course Jason!
"Yep that is correct!" I nodded.
"Oh okay, so you heard about Jason's birthday party right?" Mrs Huggins asked and I nodded.
"Well his dad will be flying back tomorrow just for his birthday!".
I don't understand why she's telling me all this. But I'm listening, maybe she doesn't want me to be bored watching her brew tea I'm not really in a mood to drink.
"Looks like his birthday will be the talk of town," I joked.
"Not really, just a few of his friends and family members that's all, we don't like calling for attention" Mrs Huggins smiled.
Her smile is really beautiful and you gst used to it quickly.
"Oh okay!" I nodded.
"So you're coming right?" she smiled.
I nodded. "Yeah of course, Jason told me about it, it's on Tuesday right?".
"Tuesday?" I heard Jason's voice behind me and I turned to see him walking into the kitchen and heading for the fridge.
"No silly" Mrs Huggins laughed.
"My birthday is on Monday, wow! Do you have bad memory?" Jason teased.
"Jason watch your tongue!" his mother threatened.
"Anytime he says something like this next time, make sure to reprimand him!" Mrs Huggins huffed.
"Mom you have no idea, how much more of reprimands I get in my room upstairs, I even got slapped in the head one time!" Jason said as he pulled out an apple canned drink from the fridge.
Mrs Huggins laughed. "Looks like miss Elsa, is not an easy person to deal with!"
"She's not, and she's rude!" Jason said to his mom.
"Anyways my birthday is on Monday, you can come if you want to and you can rest your butt home if you don't want to." Jason remarked.
I rolled my eyes, and then paused.
"On Monday?" I repeated.
"Yeah I told you about it, what the hell? Did you forget already do you suffer from anterograde amnesia". Jason tried to joke but got a glare from him mom.
"Is anything wrong?" Mrs Huggins asked.
Neil invited me to his graduation ceremony on Monday
"On Monday… Uh I have a place I have to go." I said.
"On Monday? Where?" she asked.
It's rude to tell Mrs Huggins this but she's obviously prying in my business.
"I have a graduation ceremony to attend." I tell her with a sigh.
"Your graduation?" she asked.
"No a friend of mine, he's graduating from college and I have to be there." I said.
"Oh okay"
"Is it the guy you went out on a date with?" Jason asked.
"And I don't see why I should answer that." I glared at him.
"Well that proves your answer to be yes.!" Jason said. "Anyways mom just let her go to her boyfriend's party, it's like she'll be doing anything for us here." Jason added before leaving the kitchen.
"Don't mind his words." Mrs Huggins pleaded.
"Yeah I know" I shrugged.
"I understand if you can't make it here on Monday, but I really wanted you to be here." Mrs Huggins sighed.
Why? What does she want to do with me?
I finally had the tea with Mrs. Huggins like she wished for earlier and I found my way home.
In the bus I couldn't help but think, Jason's birthday or Neil's graduation ceremony.

EPISODE 9
~
IT WAS SUNDAY afternoon, I was at home doing nothing but watching TV and stuffing my face in food. My mom was at home, but she's asleep
Well that's what I thought when a knock came in at our front door.
And I saw my mom walking across the living room to get it.
"Hi a very good afternoon to you ma'am!" I heard a very familiar voice and I found myself rushing to the door.
"Neil?" I said when I got there.
"Oh hi Elsa." he smiled from the door.
"HI… What are you doing here?" I asked.
He smiled "Oh I had to meet someone around this neighborhood and I decided to stop by and say hi, I'm leaving anyways".
"Leaving? Come in please!" my mom chimed in.
"No, no need I'll be leaving soon!" Neil persuaded.
"But still…
"Mom, He said he's leaving soon." I interrupted and Neil's eyes turned to me.
I quickly analyzed what I was wearing, and my outfit wasn't appealing at all.
But it's just Neil.
"So I'll leave you two alone." My mom said and did as she said.
"So…" Neil smiled. "You mom thinks I'm staying, I just came to say hi".
"Yeah I know that!" I smiled.
We both remained quiet until he said "Well I've seen you, we've both seen each other, I'll also be seeing you tomorrow!" He stated and I nodded. "Yep!"
"Okay then," He said and made it out of my porch waving happily to me.
I waved back and slowly close the door.
I got back to where I was before and continued with the movie was I watching.
*.
It was nighttime,
I was drying my hair with my hair dryer when I received a message from Neil.
I carefully dropped the dryer and picked up my phone to see what the message was talking about.
*I'll come pick you up at eight in the morning for my graduation ceremony*.
*Okay! I'll be waiting* I texted back.
I continued with my hair and when it was dry, I found myself on my bed ready to sleep when another message came in on my phone.
*Sup*
"Who the hell is this?" I squeezed my face as I tried to think whose phone number it might be .
*Who is This?* I asked.
And suddenly had one person in mind.
Could it be Jason? I thought!.
*Your best friend from high school… Mary* The person replied, Mary, I had no best friend or friend named Mary, who the hell is this sham.
*Is this you Jason?* I texted. I knew it was him but I had to be sure.
*Who is this Jason you speak of, it's me mary* the person replied.
I knew it was Jason.
*I know it's you Jason!* I texted and added some sentences to the sent text. *Happy birthday though, three hours until your birthday, so I'm actually first to wish you*.
*Thanks* The person replied.
*Oh wow Mary, I didn't know your birthday was tomorrow too, I was actually about to send that message to someone else I didn't know you'd reply me thanks* I wrote and let out a small giggle when the message wrote sent and seen.
He thinks he's smart.
*Okay I can't do this! It's me Jason!* He surrendered.
*I know* I replied.
*Okay can I call?* he asked.
*Sure!* I replied and in about three seconds my phone starts to vibrate and the same number was at the top of my screen.
I placed the phone on my ear "You have the guts calling your teacher by this time of the day!" I said into the phone.
"But you said I could call!" His phone replied.
"I said that doesn't mean I want you to really call me!" I basted.
"Okay, but I'm not going to hang up, so that's that!" he said, his usual rude way.
"Okay what do you want?" I asked.
"Nothing actually, but I just wanted to know if you're preparing for your boyfriend's graduation ceremony" Jason asked scornfully.
I sighed. "Did you call to them me that?"
"Yeah, of course, why else will I ca-
I cut the call before he could say another word and shoved my phone under my pillow.
I felt my phone vibrate, followed by it's message tone, but I ignored it and drifted to sleep.
*.
"Hon… Elsa, El, dear, honey, baby, wake up!" I heard my mom's voice said and I slowly opened my eyes to see my mom's face above mine.
"Hmm?" I was confused.
"Yeah, so you need to get your butt up, Neil has been waiting for you, I think for the past thirty seconds!" My mom said and I gasped and sat up.
"But he said he won't be here until 8:00pm to pick me up!" I said.
"Well it's eight minutes past eight!" my mom said and I found myself running out of the bed and immediately into my bathroom.
"Okay honey, make sure to lock the door before you leave!" my mom yelled while I was taking a shower.
"Okay!" I yelled back.
After bathing, I scanned my closet and picked one of my nice dresses, well it's nice but not pretty, well at least it's still okay!.
I put on the dress and a pair of flats, I let my hair down and made it to the living room where Neil was waiting.
"I'm so sorry for keeping you waiting!" I apologized.
"No it's okay!" He said standing up.
"Okay so we can leave now!" I said and he nodded.
I made sure I locked the door before following Neil to his car. He got the door for me this time and I got in.
We both hit the road and had a brief conversation, it didn't take long before we got to our destination.
I got down from Neil's car and the big beautiful building in front of my eyes with the name St. Steve college made me gasp.
It was beautiful and made it kind of made me nervous, I really want to go to college so bad.
Hundreds of people people filled the whole place, all ages, families and friends.
"Oh here you are Neil!" I heard a voice behind Neil and I, and I turned to see Neil's mom and dad. "Yeah, and mom remember Elsa!" Neil smiled.
His mom turned to me. "The Elsa?" she asked and Neil nodded shly.
"Oh my God, Elsa it's so good to see you, again!" his mom said giving me a hug.
"Nice to see you too" I smiled.
*-
The ceremony didn't actually take the whole day like I expected and actually when each and every graduating student came out on the school podium to give a short speech, I almost cried, cause I felt and wished I was one of them, some talked about how it has been hard for them but they're glad they're graduating.
I congratulated Neil as he drove me home and he thanked me.
I was actually very tired and I couldn't wait to go home.
When I got home Neil said he had to run cause it was four thirty and his family told him they all had something in store for him, so he left and I walked into my house.
I threw my purse on my bed and stretched my hand way down my back and unzipped my dress. I sat on my hand mistakenly pressed my phone, tapping the message app.
It opened and I saw Jason's message from last night still in 'unread'.
I opened the message and saw what he wrote.
*Still… Thanks for wishing me a happy birthday three hours before my birthday, at least you're the first and it covers your presence in my party*
I dropped my phone and sighed. Now I'm feeling bad.
I stretched my hand all the way down to my back and zipped my dress back up.
I stood up, packed my hair up, grabbed my purse and left the house… Again.
The normal thirty minutes drive to the Huggins residence wasn't thirty minutes again but fifty minutes because of the traffic.
I got to the Huggins residence… Finally,
I pressed the doorbell several times but no one answered, I was getting frustrated, but I could understand the situation cause the music from coming from inside was very loud.
“What the hell did you think coming to a birthday party full of freaky teenagers” my subconscious reminded and I rolled my eyes and groaned.
I just wanted to be a nice teacher and attend my student birthday party.
The door finally opened after a long wait and I saw a young fine teenage brunette with brown hair and brown eyes.
"You must be Jason's friend right, come on in!" she grinned, I didn't have the strength to explain who I was, so I just nodded and walked.
The house was filled with teenagers and unfamiliar faces like I expected.
I didn't even know what direction to walk to. Tall boys covered the whole room and skinny girls danced around the whole place, all of them wearing skimpy dresses.
I actually made it under the stairs which seemed less occupied and I looked around the whole room again and asked myself why I came.
I climbed the stairs and made it to the top, since everyone was glued to each other down the stairs, I made it to top of the stairs where seemed empty.
Someone touched me and I flinched and turned.
"Oh my God, calm down!" Mrs Huggins laughed.
"Yeah, sorry, I'm still amazed by the amount of people here!" I yelled over the music.
"Yeah I didn't know Jason had a lot of friends until now, they started the party two hours ago and I think they're going to bring down the roof soon!" Mrs Huggins said adjusting her expensive looking robe to cover her chest, which I eyed several times, it was just so… Rich.
"I love how they party, it makes me think of my days!" Mrs Huggins smiled.
"I don't!" I said, in a way she wouldn't hear it and the music covered it anyways.
I looked down at the crowd and at the centre was Jason, dressed in all black and wearing a golden sash that says 'Birthday boy'. He looked happy as he talked to his friends about something, He and his friends laughed and pointed to a girl who was dancing like it was her birthday.
Jason looked up and his eyes met mine. He looked surprised but he smiled.
I waved and mouthed "Happy birthday" to him.
"But I am so glad you could make it Elsa" Mrs Huggins said dragging my attention from Jason to her.
"Yeah, well I am glad you're glad I'm here" I smiled and she gave me a brief side hug and walked away.
I turned to the crowd but couldn't find Jason, standing where he was standing before.
And then I turned to see him walking up the stairs towards me.

I turned to the crowd but couldn't find Jason, standing where he was standing before.
And then I turned to see him walking up the stairs towards me.
"So you finally showed up!" Jason said as he got to me.
"I'd look bad if I miss it and now I'm kind of regretting why am here!" I sighed.
"Why?" he asked.
"Look at your girlfriends and look at me." I said and gesture my hand around referring to girls I'm skimpy dresses.
"Yeah, what's wrong with them and what's w
