πŸ… Medal Monday πŸ…

Some athletes chase the half. Some chase the full. This weekend, three more Striders chased their own version of hard and came out the other side with medals to show for it.

Qeqeshwa Mzola took on the full 42.2km at the Border Masters Marathon, and anyone who has run that distance knows exactly what it costs. The early kilometres feel manageable. By the middle, the legs start asking questions. By the end, it is heart and stubbornness carrying you home. Qesh had all three, and it showed in that finish line photo.

Right alongside her in spirit, Babalwa Sipeliti and Amanda Nomandla lined up for the 21.1km and gave it everything they had. Running side by side, pushing each other through the tough patches, they crossed that finish line as a team even before the results were in. That is what club running is supposed to look like.

Three different women, two different distances, one unmistakable Striders energy. This is a club built on showing up, supporting each other, and never letting anyone finish alone.

Congratulations Qeqeshwa, Babalwa and Amanda. You carried the badge well this weekend, and the club is proud of every step.

Engcobo Striders, forever running forward.

πŸ… Medal Monday πŸ…

Some weekends you rest. Some weekends you run 42.2km before most people have even had breakfast. This weekend, Vuko Loqo chose the second option, taking on the full Border Masters Marathon and earning every single step of that medal. Finishing 95th overall out of 2120 runners, and 11th in a stacked 45-49 category, is no small feat. That is the kind of result that comes from months of early mornings, long roads and a heart that refuses to quit.

And right alongside him, Amanda brought that same fire to the half marathon. Crossing that finish line with a medal round her neck and a smile that said it all, she reminded everyone watching exactly why she wears the red and white.

This is what the Striders spirit looks like. Two athletes, one club, one unshakeable love for the road. Whether it is 21.1km or 42.2km, our runners keep showing up and showing out, and we could not be prouder to call them ours.

Congratulations Vuko and Amanda.
Engcobo Striders, forever running forward.

In the words of the great Sipho Marima, did you run today? πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ One of our Striders sure did, and she just crushed her fastest 5K yet: 36:58. That's a 36-second personal best.

This is what consistency looks like, team. What's your run looking like today?

ROLL CALL πŸ“£ Engcobo Striders, stand up and be counted!

While the rest of the town was still under the blankets, our Striders were already out there greeting the sun.

From the 5am start times to the sunrise finishes, this club does not sleep in. Whether it was a steady 5km around the block, a strong 10km with the legs feeling fast, a half marathon PR, or a big 30km long run building towards something bigger, every single kilometre logged this week tells the same story: discipline before the world even wakes up.

To the ones chasing new personal bests. To the ones grinding through the tough middle kilometres when the pace wants to slip. To the ones who simply showed up when the bed was warm and the road was cold. This is what Engcobo Striders is built on.

Drop a πŸ”₯ in the comments and tell us: what did your legs do this week?

Red and white till we're old and grey. πŸƒπŸΎβ€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ

Medal MondayπŸ…πŸ”΄βšͺ

Another weekend, another finish line conquered. Our Striders showed up and showed out at the Absa Run Your City Tshwane 10K, and crossed the line all the way in Middelburg too. Two medals, one proud club.

To every woman who laced up: we see you. Every kilometre logged is a step closer to greatness, and this club will always celebrate the wins, big or small.

Keep running, keep rising. πŸƒπŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

Another beautiful Saturday of movement πŸŒ…
Our members were out across the country today, from Middelburg to East London, chasing personal bests and building healthy habits one kilometre at a time. Ukuzimisela kukhona apha, and it shows.
Proud of every single one of you who laced up today. Big or small, every run counts.

Pha e Mpumalanga, the place of the rising sun, Engcobo Striders is represented by our own Viwe!

Viwe Ngubo took on the road in Steve Tshwete Local Municipality last weekend, and she did not come to play. 24.01km covered at a pace of 7:31/km, and she walked away with a shiny new PR, her fastest half marathon time ever, shaving off 6 minutes and 45 seconds!

Medal around her neck, big smile on her face, and that number 789 on her chest tells the whole story: discipline, consistency and heart. This is what happens when an Engcobo Striders athlete steps out, wherever she is in the country, and puts in the work.

Wherever our members go, they carry the club with them. Well done, Viwe. You have made us proud.
