Kyle Theys, our stunning club manager is cooking up a storm. Now on offer at Orangia, burgers, chips, sandwiches, panninis, pizza. Tonight we had the best wraps in Cape Town, at R75!

And a special thank-you to Lekeasha, who helped make league 2025 a well-catered and pleasant occurrence. Lekeasha is on her way to becoming a social worker, having enrolled at UCT this year, but says she is available from time to time to help out in the future. We had a special moment with her to mark her contribution.

And just like that, the 2025 summer league season has come to a close. The final day of league saw Orangia record a draw (Men's doubles B), a good win (Men's doubles A), and a resounding win (Mixed Doubles A). Although results are not official yet, it is 99% clear that Mixed Doubles A will win their league division, and be promoted to 1st league in 2026. Phillip, Vanessa, Laetitia, Schalk, and other team members are looking at a Premier league possibility already for 2027! Men's Doubles A will also almost certainly go up to the 1st league in 2026. Men's Doubles B and Mixed Doubles B will both stay in their league divisions. A really good season!

And to cap it all, after the action there was a lot of satisfaction! Kyle led the charge, making an excellent potjie, and not to be outdone, Philip E and Colin T made vegan and Thai (not taai) alternatives. Lots of kids, parents, grandparents, and others were present. We even had a judge there in case things needed sorting out!

Penultimate weekend of league and Orangia teams recorded a walkover, a tie, and a narrow loss to the log leaders in the Men's Doubles 2nd league. Everything is set now for an exciting final Saturday, 8 Mar h. Two teams will be vying for promotion to 1st Mixed and 1st Mens doubles leagues next year. Come and watch the tennis at Orangia next Saturday, from 13h00. We will have an excellent skop afterwards to celebrate the end of league, with braai master Kyle in charge.

Two matches played this weekend, and two walkovers. Mustn't intimidate our opposition before they even arrive to play, Orangia Tennis Club ! Men's Doubles A played the log leaders, really tough match. Better luck next time, but still placed second on the log, we believe. Mixed Doubles B had a lovely day and big win against Meadowridge. Lots of pics below. Also, as is becoming tradition, a lekker braai on home turf afterwards.

And the brilliant tennis continues in the fantastic summer of 2025! Orangia teams won 3/4 fixtures on 15 Feb, against Tornadoes XDA, Tornadoes MDA, and Mitchell's Plein MDB. XDB stumbled against a strong and windy Fish Hoek team. Lots of pics below. If you are not playing at Orangia you are missing out! Note the new team colours.
