🚨 OFFICIAL CAPTAIN’S REPORT: MEIRINGSPOORT SURVIVED. 🚨

TEAM MAVERICK SWD!!! 🖤💛

Today you made your captain’s chest so big I nearly needed a separate lane at Meiringspoort just to get it through the finish area. 😂😂

You guys were absolute SUPERSTARS! ⭐️

You ran.
You climbed.
You suffered.
You questioned your life choices.
You discovered hills that apparently had hills of their own. ⛰️😂

And somehow, after all of that, the Maverick family spirit was STILL alive and kicking! 🖤💛

The support, the laughs, the encouragement and the general Maverick madness were contagious. Even when the legs were finished, the batteries were flashing 1%, and some of you were walking like you’d just spent three days riding a horse… the GEES was still there! 😂

Which brings me to a very important announcement…

👀 THURSDAY HILL COFFEE RUN.

After what I witnessed today, I never want to hear:

“Captain, I don’t like hills.”
“Captain, hills aren’t my thing.”
“Captain, can we do a flat route?”

ABSOLUTELY NOT. 😂

You voluntarily went to Meiringspoort and smashed those hills.

Your membership has therefore been automatically upgraded to the Maverick Mountain Goat Package™. 🐐⛰️

I expect Thursday’s hill coffee run to have record attendance. ☕️😂

No excuses.
You’ve been exposed.
WE HAVE EVIDENCE. 📸🤣

But jokes aside, Clan… today I was ridiculously proud to be your captain. ❤️

Not because of times, PBs or positions — but because of the way you showed up for each other.

THAT is Maverick. THAT is family. 🖤💛

Another Maverick coffee run DONE! ☕🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

A big welcome to all our first-time coffee runners who joined the clan this morning! You came for a run and coffee… unfortunately you’re part of the family now. There’s no cancellation policy. 😂

And apparently the birthday celebrations in this club just refuse to end! Today it was cupcakes for the club’s First Lady, Dez! 🧁🎂 At this rate we’re going to have to start running longer just to burn off all the birthday cake!

Bernard and Jo, thank you for the cupcakes and for keeping the Maverick athletes properly fuelled with the important stuff. You guys ROCK! 😂

Then some serious business… 🧦

A HUGE congratulations to Dez, Karlien and Gustav for completing the Maverick Sock Challenge! Three runs done, socks earned and bragging rights officially activated. Enjoy those famous Maverick socks — wear them with pride!

So today we welcomed new runners, celebrated a birthday, ate cupcakes, handed out socks… and somewhere in between we apparently went for a run. 😂
