This past weekend Outeniqua Bassmasters hosted their 3rd club outing of the season at Brakkeduine dam.
Despite low water levels of 23% at the moment, we had good weather and good fishing with lots of fish and 5 fish over 2kgs caught.
Well done to Armin for winning the biggest bag (2 fish bag) and biggest fish! Armin even won the lucky draw prize! Well done! We all look forward to getting some of your lucky biltong at the next event 😀

Outeniqua Bassmasters hosted their second club social/comp of the 2025/2026 season in November at Brakkeduine.
After some really bad wind and rain threatening on the weather forecasts since about Tuesday prior to Saturday we got off fairly lightly weather wise😁
Happily the fish obliged for the day with good numbers and quality

Outeniqua Bassmasters hosted their 1st club outing of the season at the Breede river.
Surprisingly, really tough fishing conditions were had and although decent fish came out, numbers of fish were difficult to find.

Outeniqua bassmasters hosted their final club competition of the 2024/2025 season at Poortjieskloof Dam this past weekend. There was a good turnout despite the distance to travel from the Garden Route.
Plenty of fish were caught, but bigger fish were hard to come by.

Outeniqua Bassmaster hosted their penultimate social competition of the 2024/2025 season at Koos Raubenhaimer dam outside Oudrshoorn. It was a well attended event with some new faces which were welcome.
An absolutely beautiful venue with fun fishing. Lots of small fish in the heat (37deg) with some bigger ones spotted but not wanting to eat. 2 anglers did however manage to get a big bite...Chalkey with a fish of 2,21kg and Mieke Spaans with a 2,15kg
We fished a 3 fish limit owing to hot weather and hot water with concerns over fish wellbeing.

A small contingent attended the first outing of the year at Korentepoort, with 4 boats and 1 kickboat competing.
The fishing was tough, water level was at around 70 percent and bites were few. 2 fish of over 2kgs were landed, one by Gwen and the other by Bertus.

Last weekend Outeniqua Bassmasters hosted their 1st club competition/social of the season on the Breede River.
It was a great event with surprisingly good fishing, despite the recent flooding in the Western Cape and particularly the Breede.

Congratulations to our 3 club members who fished this passed weekends SABAA Opens Eastern Divisional trials this weekend.
On Saturday all three anglers made the top 5 at Brakkeduine Camping with Armand Van der Harst, Dean Searle and Hayden Poulter finishing in 2nd, 4th and 5th respectively.
Sunday was hosted at Impofu dam and keepers were difficult to come by. Hayden, Dean and Armand finished 2nd, 9th and 12th respectively.
All our anglers are climbing the overall standings for the Division with the final events, numbers 7 and 8 in scheduled for March.
