Looking for something to do on the day everyone's showing their love. Why not join us for an awesome trail ride to enjoy what you love. We have a Walk & Talk(90min) ride on Saturday for the steady paced riders and a bit faster ride for the Adventure rider on Sunday(2hr). Or do both if you feel like you need a bit more saddle time. We also have safe and reliable horses to rent for this ride but they usually book out quite quickly, so be sure to book asap. We look forward to hearing from you all and riding together again in 2026

It’s a fun job where you will meet lots of great people and get experience like no other. Horses are however very hard work so not for the faint hearted.
We require a part time Horse Trail Guide(with the option to later become full time) who will be responsible for taking paying clients out on outrides, possibly assisting with day- and multi-day trails, as well as doing some training and schooling of new horses when need be. Garden Route Horse Trails' team are all hands on and not only guide but take care of our equine family. This means that the candidate will be asked to help with horse care, trail and camp maintenance and testing out new horses and rides(expect to get your hands dirty). You must be an energetic, outgoing, passionate horse person for this position, who's open to learning new things and ways(especially with regards to natural horsemanship and western riding), yet still be prepared to speak up and word your thoughts.
This is a wonderful opportunity to increase and learn new skills while spending time in the saddle and getting to know new people and horses. The package will depend on the qualifications and experience of the individual. On-site training will be given as well. Selected candidates will be required to do a Skill Assessment Test within a couple of days at our local branch so we can get to know you a little better and see who's the best fit. Please note that you have to reside in George and have a valid SA Drivers license to apply for this position

‼️PLEASE TAKE NOTE‼️Garden Route Horse Trails will no longer be taking any trails at Louvain Guest Farm from August 1st 2025. This chapter of our journey has unfortunately come to an end and all horses will be moved to George end of July.

We would however like to thank each and every rider and horse enthusiast that shared this beautiful place with us and our horses.🙏 It was a huge privilege and we cannot be more grateful. 😊We would like to say special thanks to Morne Jonker and his team for their kindness and support through the last 5 years and wish Louvain all the best for the years to come. This is a sad ending to a unbelievable chapter in our businesses journey, but we are excited to see what's to come in the future.🤠

‼️Our George branch however is still in full swing🏇 and we can't wait to welcome all our new and old guests there.
