The girls are in 🎉

On 12 September, the Strand HS 7s Tournament welcomed Girls teams for the FIRST TIME, culminating from a series of clinics which were held at various schools over a few months.

We fielded three teams under the Rugby Tens banner : U13 R10 Selects, U16 SAN CLEMENTE RHINOS and U16 Serengeti Elephants.

79 girls. Three schools. One series of rugby clinics.

We’ve been running girls’ clinics and touchies — open to every girl from U11 to U18, and led by former Springboks Marithy and Lorinda.

Last Friday, Springbok Women Mathrin Simmers Eloise Webb, alongside CHEETAH QUEENS Siyatanda Wipe, joined us on the field, after The girl with the fro Bossiekop ❤️🧸 earlier in the series.

That’s what we’re here to build at Rugby Tens: the first step. Somewhere to start, and a road that keeps going after it.

Davoughn Bantom, from Beaufort West, South Africa and now playing for Newton Wolves, has been with us since our 2024 Youth tournaments. MVP at our 2025 R10 Invitational. Champion at our 2026 Invitational with the U20 Cape Town Wild Dogs.

This year, Davoughn Bantom joined our High Performance Program. A pinpoint kicking game, sharp decisions, a meticulous player who keeps growing through our system.
