National Championships 2026 in Cape Town was a blast! Well done to each gymnast for stepping on that carpet! GRG qualified 11 gymnasts to compete at Nationals (the most we have ever qualified)! Congrats to each and every one.
Level 4:
*Denisha competed at her first ever Nationals and bravely performed on the big stage. She came 6th overall. Congratulations!
*Kazlin also competed at her first ever Nationals. She achieved her best rope score of the season and placed 22nd out of 55 gymnasts with rope! Well done.
Level 5:
*Limile had to overcome injury and faced the challenges head on. She performed a beautiful free dance. Well done!
*Mali, you have grown so much as a gymnast and person and I look forward to continue to see the growth and improvement. Great job!
Level 6:
*Kaiya stepped on the carpet with enthusiasm and energy. Well done for performing wonderfully.
*Milan has been growing in confidence each year and I am super proud of her.
Level 7:
*Viola, well done for competing in your first ever Nationals. With a lot of setbacks, you have overcome it to perform and even though it wasn't your best competition, I know there is still lots to come and I'm proud of you for reaching Nationals. Well done for coming 4th overall!
Level 8:
*Siyo also had to overcome an injury and had limited time to practice, but she showed her dances with confidence and style and I'm proud of her for being our first level 8 to step on the Nationals carpet.
Elite Group:
*Two weeks before Nationals, Kaiya had to fill in for an injured gymnast. She took the position quickly with energy and enthusiasm. Winning a silver medal even after our setbacks is a wonderful achievement and you can be very proud of yourselves. Well done to Kaiya, Siyo, Viola, and Marelize for winning a silver medal at Nationals!
Level 5/6 Ball Group:
*Well done to Kaylee, Kaiya, Milan, Mali, and Limile for placing 5th and showing us their best group dance of the season.
With all our setbacks and challenges, each and every gymnast handled it with confidence and ease. Well done for stepping on that stage!
We will always continue to work and grow, but I am so proud of how far GRG has come and we look forward to see what's next!
Also, a big well done to the other EC clubs. Each EC club won medals at Nationals this year and that is something to be very proud of!
