Meet Shale Biggs

From mountain biking to adventure racing to trail running. Shale is the definition of a true adventurer. Let’s throw in being a dedicated Mom of 3 too! Tough, humble and always up for the next challenge.

Shale’s highlights (to name a few) include:
🇿🇦 Representing South Africa at the 2023 & 2024 Adventure Racing World Championships
🥈3rd overall & 2nd female at the 2026 merrell Hobbit 90km
🏝️ Set the Wildcoast crossing FKT (125km!) with her team-mate, Liam Victor.

For the first time ever, we're introducing prize money for the Oldenburgia Trail Run 50km! 🏔️

Thanks to the incredible support of GBS Mutual Bank, our 50km podium finishers will be racing for more than just bragging rights.

🏆 Prize Money (Male & Female):
🥇 1st – R4,000
🥈 2nd – R2,000
🥉 3rd – R1,000

💖 Our first 50km athlete announcement is here! 📣

If you've spent any time on the trails, chances are you've spotted a flash of sparkly pink. 💗

We're excited to welcome Michael John Webb, better known as The Pink Fairy, to the Oldenburgia Trail Run 50km!

Mike and his wife have become much-loved members of the South African trail running community. Whether they're sweeping epic endurance races, volunteering behind the scenes, or adding a little extra colour and fun to events, they're always making a positive impact.

Beyond the trails, The Pink Fairy is dedicated to supporting animal welfare and children's charities through their incredible work.
