HPPCC PRE-SEASON 🏏 MATCH SUMMARY
On Saturday, 12 September, the Harrismith Pheasant Pluckers travelled to Reitz for our first pre-season fixture of the 2026/27 season. With a few new faces in the squad, it was a great opportunity to get some cricket under the belt ahead of the new season.
HPPCC captain Faraaz Khan won the toss and elected to bowl first. Reitz CC were kept quiet early on, reaching 32/2 after the first 10 overs following excellent opening spells from Mike Smith and Tiaan Marais.
Reitz then found some momentum through a 54-run partnership between Van Zyl Smit and Kobus Lamprecht, which included a massive 20-run 12th over. Collin R***r eventually broke the partnership, dismissing both Smit and Lamprecht. From there, the wickets kept falling, with Hugo Beuken also producing an excellent spell of 2/7 in 2 overs. Reitz CC were eventually bowled out for 117 in the 28th over.
HPPCC then came in to bat, with Juandre Bannau finding the middle of the bat from the very first over and producing an outstanding unbeaten 76 from just 50 balls, including 7 fours and 6 sixes. Valuable contributions from Gawie Petersen (15) and Faraaz Khan (17*) helped HPPCC reach the target in the 17th over, securing a convincing 9-wicket victory.

Next up, HPPCC welcome Eastern Tigers CC 🐅 to the Platberg Oval on Saturday, 19 September, followed by a three-match T20 series against the Lesotho National Team 🇱🇸 on 26 & 27 September.
Both weekends will be played at the Platberg Oval in Harrismith.
