The UCI MTB World Championships wraps up tomorrow with the Cross Country Olympic(XCO) races in Val Di Sole, Italy.

Tyler Jacobs will be leaning on her now trademark fast starts as she did during the XCC on Thursday to move up from the fourth row to position herself towards the front of Women’s U23 XCO. The XCO is roughly one hour 20 minutes of racing on the punchy course, a highly technical 3.5km circuit featuring approximately 155meters of elevation gain per lap and is famous for its natural alpine terrain packed with demanding tree roots, rough rocks and the notorious Cospchetto rock garden.

Unfortunately no livestream for the race but we will be updating our Instagram stories with Tyler’s progress throughout the race from 9:00 tomorrow.

A few weeks ago we met up with her…. Now you get to hear her full story… Gravel Racing, Grit and Going Fast.. This is Ella Corrigan who is part of the ASAP Women | Cycling Team cycling team. 💚 Ella Corrigan is a young South African cyclist with strong roots in George, who only discovered competitive cycling during high school. What started with a 50 km MTB race in sneakers quickly developed into serious racing across mountain biking, road and gravel.

Now competing at U23 level, Ella has already represented South Africa at the UCI Gravel World Championships, finishing 77th overall in the Women 19–34 category and as the first South African finisher in that category. She continues to establish herself among South Africa’s promising young female riders while studying at Stellenbosch University and balancing her studies with a demanding training and racing schedule.

What makes her story particularly inspiring is how quickly she has progressed, from discovering cycling as a teenager in George to wearing the South African colours on the world stage. Keep going Ella!!!!

The first official Women’s Day event hosted by the Women’s commission of Cycling South Africa. What an incredible morning, where we had an open discussion about being a WWOW woman. Thank you to every lady who joined and to Cathy, Sonja, Karin and Janine for your wisdom and insight you shared with us. Also a very special thank you to Sox Footwear for our awesome socks, we cannot wait to show them off, and a wwow thank you to House of Authentic Me for the amazing gift boxes. It was a big spoil. Also to Elrita Blignaut , who sponsored the Epsom Salt Bath Soak, which smells divine. We believe every woman walked away, leaving a scent, and taking home a flower bouquet of fearless feminine beauty. Just a few snippets of the beginning of something remarkable….
