Carlisle Stud and Equestrian Park is situated 4 km outside the picturesque town of Heidelberg in southern Gauteng on the Boschfontein Road at the foothills of the Suikerbosrand. The yard is a mere 30 minutes’ drive from southern Johannesburg and 5 minutes’ drive from the centre of Heidelberg. Carlisle Stud and Equestrian Park offers the following services:

Riding lessons from beginner to advanced

level by a qualified and experienced instructor. The yard welcomes any rider from the age of 3 years to adult. Safe and supervised pony walks are available for toddlers. Riding lessons are offered in the following disciplines: show jumping, dressage, equitation and eventing. Carlisle also welcomes happy hackers and those who simply wish to learn how to ride a horse and not compete. Lessons are either structured group lessons or private lessons. The well-being of all horses under our care is paramount, whether it is our school ponies or your private horse. Our grooms have many years of experience and have a keen eye for picking up any problems a horse may have timeously. Outrides. Outrides for the general public are arranged on request, the horses used for these outrides are well schooled, calm and experienced. The yard also offers two annual endurance events. A shorter ride for the little ones or those who are not yet competent in canter and a three-day ride for the more advanced riders. Furthermore, the yard offers moonlight outrides in the warmer months, which is a magical experience. Pony camps. Carlisle hosts two pony camps during the December/January school holidays. These are guaranteed to be fun filled and educational for the children under 24 hour adult supervision. Ponies are available for children’s parties or the yard can be used as a venue for your child’s birthday party at our lapa and farmyard. The yard is also a beautiful location for photo shoots (matric farewell, Valentine’s ball, weddings, etc…). Carlisle Stud and Equestrian Park offers the following facilities:
- 22 large airy brick stables
- 22 large airy wooden stables
- 1 sand arena
- 1 split-level derby arena
- 2 lunge arenas
- Free jump lane
- Group paddocks
- Individual paddocks

The following facilities are currently under construction (construction scheduled to be completed soon):
- 2 tack rooms
- A clubhouse lounge
- A bathroom with shower facility
- A small kitchen with coffee and tea making station
- A hospital block with a foaling block, solarium, crush and isolation stable

⭐️Congratulations to Abby and Lakota! They competed in the Burlington show over the weekend. They came an awesome 2nd in the 80cm A2 Competition class and had an unfortunate pole in the 80cm Competition in 2 phase class!

⭐️Our Eventers and their steeds had an fun day out at a training water classics show hrld at ICB!
🦄Liamay rode Waterford Chocolate, Dewald rode Stella La Scalla and Erika rode Milo in the 65cm classes.
🦄Liesl rode Carlisle's Katia, Erika rode Milo, Liamay rode Waterford Chocolate, Leané rode Weaponology and Dewald rode Stella La Scalla in the 75cm classes.
🦄Leané rode Weaponology, Liesl rode Carlisle's Katia, Adrienne rode Gondor Commet E, Duneside Vincent and D'or Amour and Lenya rode Duneside Core in the 85cm classes.
🦄Adrienne rode Gondor Commet E, Lenya rode Duneside Core and Carlisle's Anuk and Casey rode Assegai Rejoice in the 95m class.
🦄Lenya rode Carlisle's Anuk, Casey rode Assegai Rejoice and Adrienne rose Just Jasper and Gondor Penelope in the 1* class.

Congratulations to Adrienne for having superb rounds on her two rides, Just Jasper and Gondor Penelope in the CCN*S Junior & High School 1*S class at the Treverton One Day event. Just Jasper scored the only sub 30 dressage score (and the best dressage score of show), while Gondor Penelope scored the second best dressage score of the show. Kudos to Treverton Equestrian Center for hosting an awesome show and to all the organizers and sponsors involved.
