Lea Dube has won her first singles Junior ITF title just one week after turning 14! 🎾🏆

These tournaments are for international tennis players are only hosted in the age group of under 18, and the competition is fierce. This incredible achievement came at a J30 tournament in Abuja, Nigeria, where players from Great Britain, France, Hong Kong, and across Africa battled for the title. 🌍✨

While the global rankings haven’t been updated yet, our calculations show Lea could move up over 200 positions—from outside the top 1000 to well within the top 800 for the first time! 🚀

Congratulations to everyone who made the under 13 District team this year. With a special shout out to our very own students shown by the dancing tennis ball next to them 🎾🎾

Coach Mitch took a very proud step in his tennis career putting on the green and gold to represent for the first time 🇿🇦

He was selected to be the under 18 boys coach to take the national team to the African Junior championships held in Egypt in January.

And boy did this team do us proud, After a week of knock out matches we found our selves in three Finals 💪🎾 All four boys qualified in the doubles final, guaranteeing us the gold in the boys doubles. We were also privileged to have a boy and girl in the singles finals which in most years would seem to have sealed the tournament up. However Morocco won the girls doubles and also had a boy and girl in the final making it all come down to the last match of the tournament in the boys singles final. 😬

There was no doubt that effort was not an issue and our top player gave it his best. But unfortunately all he experience Morroco had on clay courts made all the difference and they ended winning every final and the over all African championship🏆

This has been our best showing in years and is extremely promising to show that we are on the right track to claim our African dominance once again 🥈🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦

As we end off the year, we can't wait to see everyone put into practice everything you have learnt in 2024. The time for technique is over and having heard your coach say brush the ball 7 million times let's put that topspin into action.

The plan is for coaches to teach tennis game plans and strategies followed by a day of putting them into action as we combine tournament and clinic together into one 4-day master class.
