How Many People Needed To Play Paintball

You can play paintball all by yourself or join in a group to enjoy the sport. Match your variation to the numbers you have and you'll be sure to have a great time.

One
Time for practice - work on your shooting positions, movement or accuracy.

Two
Small fields are great for one on one where you really can fine tune your knowledge of the field as a whole and practice keeping track of the other player. Your personal movement will improve as you also improve your field vision and awareness. Alternatively, you can work on two-man strategies.

Three
Three is perfect for working on basic team movement and strategies. You can focus on communication and cohesion as you practice as a unit. If you really feel the need to shoot, 1 on 2 staggered battles can also be fun.

Four
You can practice unit or team strategies, but short games of 2 on 2 can be a lot of fun. Divide up players on a small field and change up the teams after every game.

Five-Ten
Groups smaller than ten are still small enough to work on unit strategies, but the real fun here is to play games on a medium-sized field. Make sure everyone follows the rules and has fun. With this large of a group, you can also try out new game variations.

More Than Ten
With a larger group you should be prepared to choose teams fairly and also be prepared to wear arm bands or other colors to keep teams straight. You will need a large field (but still small enough that you don't spend the whole game without seeing anyone else) and it's a lot of fun to change up objectives from one game to the next. For larger groups it really helps if one or two people take the lead and dictate how things go.

More Than Twenty
At this point you could continue having smaller skirmishes, but it's also time that you could organize scenario games or run a speedball tournament.

Paintball is fun. There are lots of things in life that are rewarding, but if they happen to be fun while being rewarding, then they become a must-do activity. Paintball is a lot of fun to play and that sense of fun is what brings us back again and again. Every time we get ready to play, we imagine what could happen and after each game, we rehash what actually did happen. The period in-between when we're trying to accomplish whatever my goal was for that game is simply fun.

03 of 10 Adventure and Adrenaline

Ever since we first played paintball we've loved the adrenaline and adventure it provides. Running through the field, hiding behind tyre bunkers, shooting opponents and getting shot just doesn't get old. When the countdown is on before the break or as we first take off once the game begins, there is still the tingle of anticipation that goes down my neck. That feeling will never get old.

04 of 10 Teamwork and Strategy

We kind of fudged on this because teamwork and strategy don't have to go together (but it kind of gave us 11 things on our list). We love working with our team to devise and implement a strategy that leads to victory. In paintball, you quickly learn that success comes by working together and that the best strategy in the world will fail if everyone isn't on the same page. Few things are as rewarding as when you get out on the field and see a plan come together in a fun way.

05 of 10 Variety

Paintball comes in many varieties. If you want to play capture the flag or some new game type or even invent your own, you can. We like paintball because no matter how long we've been playing, it doesn't get old or stale.

06 of 10 Exercise

Paintball is an active sport. While there are periods of sitting, hiding and waiting, there are lots of times to run, sprint, jump and move. It provides an excellent chance to get exercise and get your heart rate up. As long as you remember to stretch, then the exercise is always going to be great for your body.

07 of 10 Outdoors

Our preference is always to be outside. It's a chance to feel the sun and wind and to enjoy some quality time with mother nature. We enjoy all types of paintball, but our favorite has to be playing in the natural field. It's a chance for me to really get out and enjoy some natural beauty while having fun and excitement in the process.

8 of 10 Competition

In paintball, you can have a good, competitive game and enjoy every minute of it. As long as you're playing with other people that have the similar goal of having fun, trying hard but not being hyper-competitive, then paintball is ideal to let out your competitive side.
