Eastern Cape Seminar & Gasshuku

The Japan Karate Shoto Federation (JKS) Union of South Africa Shihankai travelled to Jeffreys Bay to attend the National Seminar and Gasshuku. The delegation included Andre and Lourencia Kok (both 8th dan) and Gary Forster (6th dan), all from Johannesburg.

The seminar, which was hosted on 10 and 11 April, drew students from across the region, including participants from Jeffreys Bay, Humansdorp, Cape Town, Gqeberha, and KuGompo City (formerly East London).

A highlight of the event was Erika Ashton Jackson from Jeffreys Bay, who successfully graded for her Shodan (black belt). Erika trains at the Jeffreys Bay Dojo under the instruction of Sensei Eric Louw (7th dan).

Titan Tournament

The Japan Karate Shoto Federation (JKS) Jeffreys Bay team delivered an outstanding performance at the Titans Tournament in Gqeberha on 14 March, securing five medals in the competition.

Jene-Amri Badenhorst claimed bronze medals in both Kata and Kumite, Zachary Deysel earned gold in Kata and bronze in Kumite, while Patric Cibi secured silver in Kumite.
