Central Gauteng Athletics has once again partnered with Zithulele Sinqe Foundation to host the 2023 Zet Sinqe Series. The 1st series will be hosted on the 13th of May 2023 at Lodirile High School, Swaneville. This year’s edition will see an inclusion of Senior open mile and an opne U19 mile racewalk for more competition.



The entry fee is R20 for a Mile and R30 for 5km. All participants are to wear their permanent 2023 ASA licenses for the mile events.Temporary licences will be sold at R20 on the day. CGA clubs are encouraged to have their athletes participate in these exciting series.

🚨 ANOUNCEMENT 🚨 Development coaches play a pivotal role in the development of young athletes and this is generally an unpaid job! To appreciate our development coaches, we have added a new element to the Zet Sinqe Series Runs, where our top 3 coaches will be receiving prizes based on a point system! This is the FIRST of its kind! More points will be earned in the u17 & u19 female categories as we have seen a decrease in participation within these age groups. The point system also serves to encourage the participation of girls within these age groups!

Phemelo Matshaba claimed her first senior national title with a time of 11:02:53 in the women’s 3000m steeplechase at the recent 2023 ASA Track & Field Championships in Potchefstroom.

She is a matriculant and Academy graduate. Matshaba is studying BSc Biochemistry student at the University of Pretoria.

Three-time UP-Tuks Sportswoman of the Year winner, Tatjana Schoenmaker of , attained A-Qualifying times in three events for the 2023 World Aquatics Championships at the recent SA National Aquatic Championships in Gqeberha.

🏊‍♀️ 100m breaststroke (1:05.89)
🏊‍♀️ 200m breaststroke (2:22.44)

In February 2023, she medalled in four events at the Lausanne Swim Cup in Switzerland.
