The ESSENTIAL-6 core exercises for the TRAIL and the ROAD

No matter where you run, your core is your anchor. Experts from both disciplines agree that these 6 moves are non-negotiable for injury prevention and speed. Save this for your next strength session! 🏃💨

How to Program It:

​Frequency: 2–3 times per week (ideally after an easy run).

​Volume:

Holds (Planks): 30–60 seconds.

​Reps (Bridges, Dead Bug, Bird Dog): 10–12 per side.

​ Quality > Quantity. If you start to sag or wobble, the set is over. Focus on a "braced" feeling, as if someone is about to punch you in the gut!
