Sling Cycles Takes on Ride Joburg!

What a day! The Sling Cycles team hit the streets for the world’s second-largest timed cycle race – the legendary Ride Joburg. The vibe was electric as thousands of cyclists of all ages and fitness levels filled the roads, united by their shared love of two wheels and open air.

This year, the Sling Cycles crew rolled out in true team spirit — a mix of seasoned riders and absolute first-timers. Our youngest rider yet, 12-year-old Dan, proved that age has nothing on enthusiasm! Watching him take on the course with such confidence was one of the day’s highlights.

And of course, our titanium gravel bikes handled the pothole-riddled streets of Joburg just as we expected… Perfectly.

The Tanqua Kuru Bicycle Race 2025 Presented By Sling

Now in its 5th year, The Tanqua Kuru Bicycle Race. is a heavenly bicycle race through the harsh Tankwa Karoo. This year, they’re switching it up, again. You asked, they’ve delivered. It’s back to The Pan baby! Out the park, up the R355, hit a left and you’re there. A few hours later, sure, but you’ll be there. We’ll be there. The whole circus will be there. It’s going to be a whole thing and then some more.

The long route is tough and suited for riders who are happy to spend a good few hours in the saddle. The medium route is no gimmie either and they’re sending you way out into the rocky desert to bake. Not a cyclist? No problem! They love everyone. Packages available for Sling enthusiasts too!

We’re going to ride flippin’ hard. We’re going to eat like desert royalty. Some no doubt will over hydrate in the Onverklaarbar. We’re going to light things on fire and shoot up some fireworks.
