In Greek, Shavuot is known as Pentecost, because it occurs 50 days after the Feast of Firstfruits. Shavuot also takes place seven weeks after Passover.
We wish Miss Lisa a prayerful celebration of Shavuot these holy days.
Chag Shavuot sameach!

This morning we closed a wonderful Catholic Schools' Week with a three-fold celebration: morning tea for the father's and transport drivers, a talk on vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life and a Pentecost prayer to close the novena to the Holy Spirit.
We thank Sr Agnes of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus congregation, for her charismatic presence among us. We thank our school parish priest: Fr Simon, for his willing support, commitment, love and care of us and for always being available to us spiritually. Fr Simon led us into a time of prayer as we invoked the Holy Spirit. He closed our prayer with a blessing with holy water.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS' WEEK:
our giving of loaves of bread to Mother Theresa's home.
Thank you dear children for your generous family giving. We filled 12 bags.
We celebrated a Word of G-d prayer service yesterday to commemorate the Ascension of the Lord. Fr Simon Donnelly blest us.
Today we started the novena to Our Lady and the Holy Spirit in our church: Our Lady of the Wayside.
Next week we anticipate Pentecost (the descent of the Holy Spirit) and we will engage in a range of activities as Catholic Schools' Week unfolds.

May His Light be our guide.
