Good morning!
Many ask why I chose pink for my private gym's theme. The reason is I absolutely love pink!π· I also happen to have grown up surrounded by the worry and stress of breast cancer in my family.π
Throughout my life this color has reminded me of how strong women and any breast cancer survivors are. It also reminds me to take care of myself as well as check on others, as we are only as strong as we are united.π―ββοΈ
No matter the month or the day, your health and wellness are every bit as important as your fitness journey is!

Typically we hear many of our client's say:
" I can't live heavy weights, they'll make me bulky!"

Abdominal training is emphasized here at Suzanne's because not only is it the base of most muscle movements; your abdominals serve to stabilize most if not all exercise.π¦
Strengthening your core allows you to lift heavy objects in your daily life, protects your back and spine from injury, and assists in correcting posture and aligning balance. It also helps to improve other forms of exercise, resulting in you getting the most out of your workouts!

At Suzanne's Fitness Centre we encourage our clients to fuel their bodies before and especially after training.
Without enough food it will be very difficult to get through a training session and you may think that something is wrong with you or that you are unfit, but enough food is KEY to getting the most out of your workouts, as well as aiding in muscle growth and repair.πͺ
Eating after 6 pm does not automatically mean you will gain weight as calories do not mysteriously increase at night . We have heard this from several clients and we wanted to clarify that this is a diet-culture fueled myth. We do not encourage dieting at Suzanne's but rather personal and nutrition-based choices for foods that work for you!π
Eating at night may cause acid reflux or digestion issues for some people so try to eat at least 3-4 hours before bed or if not, try to eat a light dinner.πΏ

Your body is so incredibly beautiful and unique. When was the last time you did something to take care of it?π
Self-care routines are known for their bath-time, face mask tropes and I am here for that too, but true self-care is honesty with yourself.π
It's setting a routine for waking up and going to bed.π΄
It's making sure your hygiene routine serves you.π
It's making sure you do some enjoyable physical activity daily ( all movement is good movement so have that dance party!)π
It's setting goals and writing down your thoughts , feelings and dreams.βοΈ
It's having a wholesome conversation, a good laugh and a big hug (even ones you give yourself).πββοΈ
Everyday I am proud of you for trying to take care of yourself no matter how small, it becomes big in the end.

It's the afternoon and do you know what that means?
It's stretching time!π§ββοΈ
Your body is most flexible from 14:30 to 16:30. If you ever want to improve your flexibility, reduce injury and improve muscle appearance and length, stretching is the best way to go and an often overlooked part of the fitness journey.
If you find yourself feeling muscle stiffness all the time be sure to include rest and recovery into your training and if you need our Stretch Zone classes are available from 14:45 pm to 18:00pm from Monday's to Thursday's at Suzanne's Fitness Centre!β¨
