Unfortunately, cold weather can mean lots of cases of flu, bugs and colds. Eating plenty of vegetables and fruit gives you immune-boosting nutrients to protect you from illness. Vitamin E helps to keep a healthy immune system, while vitamin C helps you to fight infections.
Vitamin C can be found in citrus fruits, kiwifruit, tomatoes, broccoli, and spinach.

Have you checked if your running/walking shoes are still good?
Running and walking in old or worn-out shoes can lead to discomfort and injuries. Over time, your running/walking shoes lose shock absorption, cushioning, and stability. When you run in worn-out shoes, it increases stress and impact on your legs and joints, which can cause overuse injuries, as well as general aches and pains. One of the best things you can do to prevent running injuries is to replace your shoes at the right time.
Quick tips to check if you need new running/walking shoes:
– Pain when running
– Poor shock absorption
– Worn-out treads

Getting back to your usual fitness levels after the holidays is a gruelling task, and can be demotivating. We get it – don’t push yourself too hard, take it easy, and start slowly if it’s your first day back. Begin with shorter routes and make sure you take rest days to avoid injuries.
