Proteas vs Blackcaps 2ndtest

05/01/2024

The third day of the third Test match between Australia and Pakistan was exciting, with both teams battling it out on the field. Australia resumed on 116-2 with Labuschange and Smith continuing to score steadily and take Australia closer to Pakistan's first innings score of 313.

Labuschange and Smith added 71 runs before both Smith and Labuschange lost their wickets one after the other. Australia then managed a few small partnerships to take their score to 289 before collapsing to 299 all out giving Pakistan a first-innings lead of 14 runs.

Pakistan began their 2nd innings in the worst way possible by losing 2 quick wickets in opener Abdulla Shafiq and Captain Shan Masood both for ducks. Saim Ayub and Babar Azam then gave Pakistan some hope with a partnership of 57 before Pakistan's batting collapsed from 58-2 to 68-7 to end the day staring at defeat and missing another chance to win their 1st test in 28 years. Pakistan last won a test match in Australia in 1995. Pakistan also has never won a test series in Australia. Pakistan are on a 16-test match losing streak in Australia and should they lose this 3rd test it will extend to 17.

Pakistan currently have a lead of 82 runs and it will be interesting to see what they can push the lead to when Rizwan and Jamal resume batting on Day 4.

Overall, it was a dominant day for Australia, who are in a strong position to win the match and complete a 3-0 series whitewash over Pakistan.

Australia and Pakistan faced off in the second Test match at MSG. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first. The visitors started well with opening bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Mir Hamza getting the ball to move off the seam. However, the Australian batter struck back with a good opening partnership of 90 runs. Australia finished the day at 187/3 off 66 overs as rain played spoilsport, with Hasan Ali, Agha Salman and Aamer Jamal the pick of the bowlers. It was a tough day for the Pakistani bowlers as they struggled to cause Australian bowlers for long enough periods at a time, but they will look to bounce back on Day 2. The Australian batsman will be aiming to put up a big total for their bowlers to bowl too. Overall, it was an exciting day of Test cricket and fans can look forward to more action in the coming days.

The first One Day International (ODI) match between India and South Africa was a one-sided affair, with India winning by eight wickets. Arshdeep Singh's fifer played a crucial role in India's victory. The Proteas were never in the game as they were put on the back foot right from the start.

South Africa won the toss and decided to bat first. However, they started off poorly, with Reeza Hendricks and Rassie Van der Dussen both being dismissed for a duck. India's bowlers picked up wickets at regular intervals and bundled out South Africa for just 116 runs in 27.3 overs.

India, in response, got off to an average start, losing Ruturaj Gaikwad early. However, Sai Sudarshan and Shreyas Iyer steadied the innings and built a partnership of 88 runs. Sudarshan and Iyer both scored half-centuries, leading India to a comfortable victory.

Overall, it was a match that showcased the talent of young Indian players. India hopes to maintain their winning momentum in the second ODI, while South Africa will be looking to bounce back and level the series.

The second ODI between South Africa and India is scheduled to take place tomorrow in Gqeberha. Both teams will be aiming to put up a strong performance. India will be high on confidence after their win in the first ODI, and they will be hoping to continue their winning streak. On the other hand, South Africa will be looking to bounce back and level the series.

South Africa will be looking to enhance their batting performance in the second ODI. Their batting order failed to perform in the first ODI, and they will be hoping for contributions from the likes of Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram, and Rassie van der Dussen in the upcoming match.

India, on the other hand, will be looking to continue their dominant performance with both bat and ball. The top order, including Sai Sudarshan, Ruturaj Guikwad, and Tilak Verma, will be crucial to India's chances. Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan will lead India's bowling attack and look to pick up wickets at regular intervals.

Overall, the second ODI promises to be another exciting encounter between two talented teams. Cricket fans can expect a thrilling match that will keep them on the edge of their seats until the very end.
