Bobbies get the EDge back

Jhb Bobbies got the EDge back on Thursday when the new assistant coach Edward Booysen joined the club. Edward like Rudy Nell is an old Bobbie that returned in 2020. Booysen will also take the head coaching position as 7’s coach where he had success in the past year as an assistant coach.

Booyens comes with experience playing for open Clubs like Raiders and Roodepoort. The 38-year-old will have a tough time as most of the players in the Club have played with Booysen in the past but the players have a lot of respect for the new coach. As a captain of the 1st side, he is a born leader and will slot in with ease with Rudy Nell.

Nell and Booysen will have their work cut out this year but both are eager to make the club successful in 2020.
Bobbies are training hard for the Golden Lion's annual 7’s tournament on the 22 and 23 February 2020 in Randfontein.

We really want to do well in the 7’s this year, Bobbies went through a change in management and the club is starting to retain more and more of the old Bobbies.

We would like to welcome any players that want to join us on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 18:30!

Head coach @ Jhb Bobbies is an old face

2020 is a new start for the Jhb based team @ Die Burger Hoërskool. 2019 was a tough year and a lot of hard word went into the season were Bobbies lost in the Semi final to Randfontein.
Bobbies retained the services of Coach Rudy Nell, Rudy was assistance coach in 2019 and he accepted to lead Bobbies in the 2020 season as head coach. He has always been part of the Jhb family and played for the club a couple of years. He retired in 2018 as a player and then took the coaching job in 2019.
2020 will be his first year in charge and the players are looking forward to see what the veteran will bring in 2020. The players have a lot of respect for the new coach he was a hard worker on the field and always gave his all. Off the field he is a “bobbie” . Always one of the last to leave the club house and making sure everybody is happy.

Bobbies wishes him good luck for the year to come…
