Kwanele Collective opens Call for Applications for our Mid Year Global Dance Festival. We are calling on artists to apply for the event's second edition. The festival will take place in Mozambique, between 27 July and 1 August 2021.



South African artistic director facilitated a Global Dance workshop and National festival in 2019.

Applications are open to local and international artists exploring non-dance, performance art, contemporary dance, traditional dance and street dance as virtual and non virtual artistic expressions.

The festival is a training and performance platform for participants to learn more about the challenges of the sector, share ideas and expand networking opportunities with festival organisers, relevant cultural institutions and funders. The Theme of the Festival is titled 'a way forward'

The programme includes a one-week dance workshop, which takes place before the start of the festival.

The 2019 edition, which took place from 11 to 13 January, included a workshop by artistic director Kwanele Finch Thusi in Cape Town, KZN, Johannesburg, Sweden, Mozambique and Amsterdam.

The applications deadline is 1 May 2021. Only successful candidates will be contacted.
