Rising Sunsets do it again!
2025/26 CGL Veterans League Winners with a hard fought 5 wicket win over regular final adversaries Old Edwardians at The Wanderers Club.
Batter of the final was Kyle Smit for his 53 in 31 balls and best bowler was Robbie Mutch for his 1/13 in 4 overs.
Scores:
Old Edwardians 141/7 in 20 overs (Brad White 32*, Conrad Jantjes 2/30).
Rising Sunsets 143/5 in 17.3 overs (Kyle Smit 53).

Congratulations to the Lions Over-50s that received their caps from CEO Jono Leaf-Wright at a ceremony held at The Wanderers Club.
Amongst those receiving their caps were Captain Colin Kruger and Vice-Captain Yasin Manack, who will be making his Lions Veterans debut at the IPT next week hosted by Eastern Storm Veterans Cricket.
In his comments, the CEO said he was looking forward to following the latest representatives of the Lions Pride in action at the IPT and challenged them to bring another Veterans trophy back to Johannesburg.

Congratulations Rising Sunsets and Old Edwardians for winning their semi-finals to reach the final of the 2025/26 CGL Veterans League.
In the first game of a double-header held at the Wanderers Club, Rising Sunsets defeated Jeppe by 62 runs, with Proteas Veteran Kyle Smit scoring 104 from 45 balls.
Scores:
Rising Sunsets 207/4 (20 overs), Kyle Smit 104, Andre Johnson 52
Jeppe 145/9 (20 overs), Bruce Gilson 52.

In the second game, Old Edwardians triumphed over Delfos by 39 runs.
Scores:
Old Edwardians 220/5 (20 overs), Warren Dugmore 63, Brandon Buckley 87.
Delfos 181/7 (20 overs), Suhel Saleh 76.

The final will take place on Saturday 9th May (13:00 start) at the Wanderers Club.

[UPDATE - Due to a clash with Ramadan, the dates of the Over-50s World Cup have been moved to January 24-February 7.]

The next IMC Over-50s World Cup will be held in Hyderabad, India, from February 6-22, 2027. We had previously announced that the World Cup would be in India, but we now have firm details regarding the dates and the location.
