Part of ballet (and any) training is actually rest! As we head into our term break, we wish all our dancers and parents a well-deserved rest ๐.
Well done dancers for all your hard work and motivation this term! The progress everyone made was astonishing!
Enjoy the break! We look forward to more dancing in term 3 ๐๐คฉ

Every detail matters!
There's so much good here, so much progress, yet also so much to be improved ๐ฉฐ
Don't forget to celebrate all the small accomplishments because these truly build up and allow you to achieve the big ones!
Then keep going so that every day, every lesson, something gets better, easier, and more natural ๐๐๐ฅ
Ballet needs consistency and careful training in order to reach those goals, and if you'd like to learn more, come experience the details, love for ballet, and proper training yourself! Book a free trial class ๐

Some dancers are blessed with natural talent and some dancers just work hard. But when you have a dancer with natural talent that also puts in the work, especially from such a young age - that's where real magic happens! We are so honoured so be part of this young dancer's training and so excited for her future! ๐คฉโค๏ธ

Dreams came true in term 1 where some very hard-working dancers got their first pair of pointe shoes! The excitement never ends!

Dancers always want to perform at their best. That comes with practice but is also about choreography. So should exercises and dances be very simple or very difficult?
Simplicity can be exquisite. A simple walk, a gesture, using the music beautifully, or just exceptional ex*****on because of the simplicity. This requires control, strength, and awareness of the music. However, something incredibly difficult executed with precision and ease, can be just as breathtaking.
Simplicity is where technique is properly learned. But once it's there, dancers need to be challenged, although it needs to be achievable. Sometimes simplicity is key for elegance and excellence. But as teachers, we CANNOT allow our dancers to feel โstuckโ. We should always extend them beyond the syllabus, introducing dancers to additional movements which will push them even further in their dancing, while ensuring these are not beyond their grasp.
Really, the best is to do both, as each one has a purpose. Training both aspects and understanding where they are each appropriate. Have choreography thatโs more simple and โeasyโ AND do some thatโs more of a challenge, to extend dancers beyond what they thought was possible.
Because, what is our goal? Do we want dancers who only work within their comfort zone and never grow, or do we want artists who keep striving for better dancing โ through simplicity and ambition? Dancers who can captivate an audience while doing something โsimpleโ. And dancers who successfully and cleanly execute difficult steps. They both amaze audiences because of their remarkable ability and precision. It doesnโt have to be either/or. WE CAN BE BOTH. Letโs go for simplicity AND ambition!

It's so exciting welcoming parents to class, where dancers can show how much they have learned this year already! ๐คฉ

Well done, well done! These two lovely dancers have been working so hard on their pas de chat arms. The progress is amazing! Pas de chat arms (any arms, really!) take tons and tons of work ๐
. They're not perfect, but they've improved so much! And every time they get better ๐. We have to celebrate each tiny bit of progress because it's not just about the end result. Today was better than yesterday and that's worth being proud of! Well done! Keep working! ๐

We absolutely need technique, but we cannot stop there! We need to let our passion shine through and colour our dancing ๐. We need to work on both aspects, and we need to show both when we are performing, for a full-package dancer. We also need to remember that although we constantly work on our technique, we must not lose our passion ๐ฅ. Let your love for dance flow through to the audience - they'll want to watch you more because of it!

Some beautiful dancers learning to use first position for the first time! Simply being able to do 1st position is not the same as actually starting each exercise like a ballerina! ๐
This is one of the most special levels to teach, as the more formal training is started and there are so many new things to learn ๐คฉ.
