At Scuba Evolution our mission is to give anyone and everyone a super power: the ability to freely explore the world beneath the waves, and the ability to breathe whilst they’re doing it. By providing the best and safest training, we enable our divers to go where few others have been before and see things that most haven’t. Our aim is build a community of divers with the skills and knowledge to explore our aquatic realms and also protect them for the future. Advanced Open Water is five dives, not five lectures. Deep and navigation are compulsory; you choose the other three from options such as night, wreck and photography. You come out rated to 30 metres, with no exam.

We're now a DAN Southern Africa Industry Partner.

Joining meant writing an Emergency Assistance Plan for every place we dive: the shop, the heated pool in Fourways, Bass Lake, Miracle Waters and our coastal trips. Emergency oxygen goes to every dive site we set up, and our instructors' first aid and emergency oxygen training is current.

Open Water Diver is the card every other course builds on. Theory at your own pace, confined water sessions in a heated indoor pool in Fourways, then four open water dives. You finish qualified to 18 metres with a buddy, and a PADI certification does not expire.

A certification card records that you passed a course on one day. The logbook records everything since: depths, conditions, how often. When a dive centre asks for your logbook, it is reading the diver, not the card. Keep it current.
