Scribbling! It’s not just nonsense.
In fact, it is SO important to embrace scribbling and recognize it as art and creativity!
Things caregivers can say:
“I see you moving your hand in a circle.”
“You are moving you hand so fast in a circle”
“I see you lifting you hand up and down! That makes dots!”
“You are holding a crayon.”
Don’t stifle the scribble. Embrace it as the most important beginning to a wonderful relationship with literacy and creativity!

Communication is one of the vital tools parents have in their ability to raise happy and confident children. I can not emphasize more how important communication is!
We are hearing of so many Emotional problems arising amongst children during this lockdown. Even though this can be be a common problem.
All our children, no matter what age are affected to some extent- their worlds have totally changed and they can sense the stress and anxiety of the adults around them.
Talk to them, let them discuss how they are feeling and let them voice their frustrations and concerns.
Don’t stress if they don’t give rational answers or do not talk back- open the channel of communication.
Young children also benefit from drawing their fears and role play where they can remove themself from a situation and let an “imaginary “ person deal with the conflict inside.
Drawing is a form of communication 🙂
Take care everyone 💜
