🏡 PLANTING A NEW GARDEN? DON'T MAKE THE MOST EXPENSIVE MISTAKE FIRST.

One of the easiest things to overlook when creating a new garden is the soil.

You can spend money on beautiful plants - but if the soil isn't giving their roots what they need, your plants may struggle from day one.

🌱 Prepare the soil.
🌱 Add quality organic matter.
🌱 Give roots the environment they need.
🌱 Then plant.

Start underneath. Grow better above.

💧 WATER MORE. WATER LESS.

If your garden dries out quickly after watering, the problem may not be how much water you're using - it could be how well your soil holds it.

Improving soil structure with quality organic matter can help create a better environment for roots and moisture retention.

🌱 Better soil
💧 Better moisture management
🌿 Better root development
☀️ Greater resilience during dry conditions

Don't just water your garden. Improve the soil you're watering.

Choose Turfnet SA for quality organic soil solutions.

Dan Barwick, owner of Turfnet, walks us through the rigorous process behind every truckload of compost they produce, quality checked at every step.

Not all compost is created equal. The bacteria-to-fungi ratio determines whether it builds your soil or quietly works against it, so sourcing from a reputable producer matters more than most realise. As a farmer, knowing your compost supplier's process is essential.

For growers in the JHB region, we highly recommend Turfnet.

Meet the Microbes

The workforce you never see.
Beneficial microbes work 24/7 by:
• Breaking down organic matter
• Recycling nutrients
• Supporting root growth
• Improving soil health

They’re some of the hardest workers on your property.

Myth: More fertiliser always means better grass.

Reality:
Without healthy soil biology, much of that fertiliser can be wasted.

Beneficial microorganisms help unlock nutrients already present in the soil, allowing plants to use them more efficiently.
