I decided to do Ceder Rd climb back to Broadacres yesterday and one tends to forget what that particular does to one’s legs after a longer than normal. I can honestly say that my legs were toast. But then I go out with my son and his words were - pops let’s go for a nice slow waffle ride this morning. I rest my case ……

Going out 2 weekends ago (last weekend was freezing) was amazing. Just seeing so many cyclist out in the Maropeng – Cradle of Humankind enjoying what they do best - being out in the fresh air with mates and or family. But of course, a coffee stop halfway or at the end is the best. It doesn't matter 'how fast or slow you go or how far you go it matter of being out there enjoying yourself. Keep it going

Well, I’ve started my long journey back to some form of fitness. My avg is still below the 25k mark but we’ll get there. Weather was ideal to be out in the Cradle of Human Kind - Maruping. And also it was the first time in a long time I never wore arm warmers. It felt strange.

I recently had my rear hub rebuilt at Shocks and Rims Cycles in Douglasdale. John who does all his work from his well kitted out garage with every tool he may require to get your bike back on the road. One very important aspect of his service is that he takes his time and makes sure that your bike is 100% ready before he hands it back to you. Time is not an issue with John, what is an issue is to give a service which will ensure that you are happy and will continue using Shocks and Rims Cycles for all your bike services.
I'll most certainly be back. A very happy customer and cyclist.
