Heads up: all other Taroko trails are open as normal on the day, this is happening on the new track only, so if you are planning a ride, ride on!

Let's talk rubber 🛞 Your tyres are doing more work than you think and running the wrong tread for certain conditions can turn sketchy quickly

For dry, hardpack trails: look for a fast-rolling, low-profile tread like the Maxxis Ikon or Aspen. Less resistance, more speed, still enough bite to hold corners when the dust is loose on top.

For wet, muddy, or loose conditions: you want an aggressive, widely-spaced tread that clears mud and digs in. Think Maxxis Minion DHF/DHR or Shorty. More grip, more confidence
