I didn't realise when I started yoga (I was bored in my first ever yoga practice) that it would become a constant in my life for decades.
One yoga sutra says practice, every day, for a long time. The commitment required, to show up for yourself, as a practice, is an act of self care, even when it doesn't feel like care...... because we think care is to make us comfortable, whereas true self care is to create freedom, and freedom requires discipline and that sometimes looks like hard work.

Your body is a temple
As a student of yoga, I hear this all the time, but as a human being, I never heard it.
This is for all the humans out there..... your body is a temple, it is not a slave.
It is housed with unimaginable wisdom and power. It deserves your respect, attention and cooperation.
To rebuild your relationship with your body, you will unlock a body-brain power that most deny, thinking the mind is omnipotent.
Clarity of mind comes from this relationship.
Dexterity comes from this relationship.
Less anxiety comes from this relationship.
A greater window of tolerance ie less reactivity, comes from this relationship.
Joyfullness comes from this relationship.
Determined, purposeful action comes from this relationship.
