The JKA South African Karate Association is affiliated to the Japan Karate Association headquarters in Tokyo Japan.

The JKA South Africa Karate Association was incorporated under the guidance of Dave Friend as a Non-Profit organisation on 12 August 2009 under South African Company registration number 2009/015833/08.
