Starting today 6 July 2026: The Limpopo Province offering of the LINK Centre's five-day in-person course in the Broadband and Digital Skills for Municipalities programme:
Municipalities are under pressure to deliver faster, smarter and digitally. This programme will help you lead the process of strengthening local infrastructure, service delivery and economic growth.

Governance, Policy and Regulation for the Digital Era (GPRDE)
This LINK Centre virtual course develops the knowledge and practical skills needed to engage with Africa's fast-changing digital policy and regulatory environment. Previously known as "TPRM", it explores emerging issues such as AI governance, broadband expansion, digital inclusion, and cybersecurity. With strong emphasis on African contexts, participants work with key regional instruments and frameworks. The course combines theory with applied tasks relevant to public and private sectors, with a total of three weeks (15 days) of lectures and sufficient time to complete group and individual assessments. A quality-assured Certificate from the University of the Witwatersrand is issued on successful completion. Apply now:

Tomorrow (Fri. 5 June 2026): Cape Town launch of the book "Media on the Margins in South Africa", edited by Franz Krüger, Sarah Chiumbu and Herman Wasserman. The volume includes a chapter,"South African Community TV: Perseverance in the Face of Uncertain Policy, Regulatory and Operational Conditions", by LINK Research Associate Chris Armstrong. Other contributing authors: Rod Amner, Tanja Bosch, Nicola Davies-Laubscher, Kathleen Magrobi, Shepi Mati, Meli Ngcube, Aphiwe Ngowapi, Enock Sithole, and Kate Skinner.
