A bowhunter was shot in the chest by a stray bullet while sitting in his deer blind.

The 38 year old hunter was sitting inside a ground blind in Clinton County, Michigan, Saturday evening when an errant round struck him. Investigators say people on a nearby property were target shooting when the bullet traveled onto the hunting property. The hunter was rushed to a hospital and remained in critical condition. No names have been released and no charges have been announced as the investigation continues involving the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and Michigan DNR.

This is a brutal reminder that fi****ms safety doesn’t end when you pull the trigger. Knowing your target and what is beyond it matters, but so does knowing what is around you. A hunter sitting in a blind should never have to worry about being struck by a bullet fired from a neighboring property.

Plastic wads. Should they still have a place in shooting?

They’ve been used for years, they perform well, and plenty of shots still swear by them.

But with fibre and newer eco alternatives improving, is there really still a justification for leaving plastic wads behind in the countryside?

Do you still shoot plastic wads?

Are they genuinely better than fibre or eco alternatives?

Should they still be on the market at all?

Or are we trying to remove something before the alternatives can properly match the performance?
