I was once asked if I would be willing to 'ghostwrite' someone's thesis. My answer was no, and this is why:
Your work needs to be YOUR work. The implications of this for editing are that your editor can only clean up your writing - not write your thesis for you.
I'm sure you will find plenty people willing to be ghostwriters if you google it, but it is ethically wrong and essentially a 'cheat' to being awarded your degree. Please keep that in mind before you hire someone to write your thesis for you...
I do offer writing skills sessions to help people to improve their general and academic writing skills. Give me a call or email me if you'd like to find out more.
: You are writing for the academic world, which means you must write formally at all times: no slang, no contractions (e.g. can't).
: Have AT LEAST one backup of your thesis stored somewhere other than your laptop or flash disk. Think cloud storage like Dropbox or Google Drive. If you haven't got this sorted, do it immediately.
: The literature review chapter is there to show your examiner that you have a good grasp of your topic and the related research. It's also the chapter that highlights why your research is important. Don't leave it for last - it should inform everything you do, and will make writing your discussion chapter a breeze.
: Do. Not. Copy and paste from articles or other online sources. I repeat. Do, Not. Copy and paste. It's plagiarism, and could earn you a big fat zero on your final result.
: Rule of thumb for structuring your chapters - Introductory paragraph: introduce the purpose of the chapter, provide a summary of what you are going to talk about; Body: talk about what you said you would talk about; Conclusion: Recap what you spoke about.
: Assume that you are writing for someone who knows nothing about your topic area - pretend that you are explaining your research to a colleague, family member or friend - i.e. guide them through the topic and research step-by-step.
