Khayelitsha Giants Baseball Club

2025/26 season, Khayelitsha produced at least 7 players who participated in the National Baseball Championships (NBC) held in Boksburg in March 2026.
This is a great achievement for our community and a sign that baseball in Khayelitsha continues to grow and produce talented players capable of competing at national level.

Day 6: Athlone A’s

Our kids love being at the Athlone A’s field , and for many reasons. The atmosphere is always welcoming, the facilities are inspiring, and the kindness we receive makes it feel like a safe place to be.

From the moment we arrive, we are greeted with warmth. The fields, the batting cages, the environment , everything speaks of care and passion for the game. And then there’s the Professor, whose welcome always makes us feel at home.

For our players, being at Athlone A’s is more than just playing baseball. It’s about experiencing a space where they feel safe, encouraged, and valued.

To Athlone A’s ,thank you for your atmosphere, your facilities, and your heartfelt welcome. You’ve given our kids a place where they feel safe and inspired

Day 5: VOB Baseball & Softball Club
When VOB came to our field, we had one of the most competitive yet fun games. By then, our players had already learned a lot and improved on the fundamentals, while VOB showed their deeper understanding of the game. It was a very good match, full of happy vibes and respect on both sides.
But what makes VOB unforgettable is their thoughtfulness. They brought us a bag with gloves and baseball pants. With pants and gloves wearing out quickly, these are always needed, and their gift was a blessing. It showed us that they cared enough to support our journey in a practical way.
All the VOB Baseball & Softball Club coaches, without mentioning names, deserve our gratitude. Their kindness, their spirit, and their willingness to stand with us made a lasting impact.

To VOB, thank you for the competitive games, the happy atmosphere, and the thoughtful support.

Day 5: Battswood Baseball Club

Battswood and Khayelitsha share many similarities , both rooted in communities that face socio‑economic challenges, both sustained by passion and perseverance. Battswood has been around for a long time, and their journey showed us that with hard work, you can achieve and sustain something meaningful.

When we were starting out, we only had one softball bat. Battswood stepped in and gave us bats, gloves, and balls. They understood our struggles firsthand and wanted us to move forward. Their generosity reminded us that you don’t need abundance to make a difference , you can still give from the little you have.

We also learned from them that even without parental support, coaches and players can carry the vision forward. Their encouragement and inspiration lit a spark in us, proving that community spirit can overcome obstacles.

Thank you, Battswood Baseball Club, for showing us what true commitment looks like, and for helping us believe in the power of perseverance.

Day 4: Kuil River Cardinals Baseball Club
What an awesome bunch of kids, and coaches across all age groups full of love! Every time we’ve played Cardinals, the atmosphere has been nothing but joy and respect. They welcomed us like family, and over the years that bond has grown stronger with every season.
There is one person we cannot go without mentioning Bear Q. With a heart of gold, Q has been a shining example of kindness and support. His presence has made every encounter with the Cardinals unforgettable, and his love for the game and for people is something we deeply admire.
The Cardinals have shown us that baseball is about more than competition. It’s about friendship, laughter, and community.

From match balls to practice pants and gloves, we are grateful for the ways they’ve stood with us. Playing Cardinals feels less like opponents and more like family.
To Kuil River Cardinals, thank you for your love, your friendship, and for reminding us that baseball is at its best when played with heart. And to Q Bear thank you for your golden heart, keep changing lives
