☀️🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏾‍♂️ LOCAL IS LEKKER: DNDKBHM 2026 TAKES CENTRE STAGE! 🏃🏾‍♂️🥇

Athletics Griqualand West is proud to be part of the preparations for the second edition of the Diamonds & Dorings Kimberley Big Hole Marathon (DNDKBHM 2026).

The Race Directing Team, led by Mr Thato Setlholo, Race Director and President of AGW, had the opportunity to brief the Premier of the Northern Cape, Dr Zamani Saul, on preparations for this year's marathon.

The briefing was also attended by representatives from the Sol Plaatje Municipality, the MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, NCEDA, the NCEDA Board, and AGW Board Members and Club Chairpersons, highlighting the growing collaboration and support behind this iconic Northern Cape event.

This year's marathon proudly places local talent at the heart of the event. 💎

🎨 Local designers Fort Joko, House of Rude and Likausu have brought their creativity to the official DNDKBHM merchandise, while KIDJI is designing and manufacturing the official race medals.

Under the theme “Local is Lekker”, DNDKBHM 2026 will celebrate the incredible creativity, craftsmanship and talent that exists right here in the Northern Cape.

In Memoriam

It is with great sadness that Athletics Griqualand West (AGW) extends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, athletes and running community following the passing of Anthony Kgano, affectionately known as Coach Anthony, who passed away over the weekend.

Coach Anthony was a familiar and respected presence within our running community. Through his dedication to athletics, his passion for developing runners and his commitment to the sport, he touched the lives of many.

His contribution to athletics and the impact he made on those around him will not be forgotten.

During this difficult time, AGW stands with the Kgano family and all those who knew and loved Coach Anthony. May you find strength and comfort in the memories you shared with him.

Rest in peace, Coach Anthony. 🕊️
